OfferBox. How to remove? (Uninstall guide)

removal by Gabriel E. Hall - -   Also known as OfferBox virus | Type: Adware

OfferBox is a potentially unwanted application (PUP), which can also be called adware. There are many security vendors who decided to include this application to the data base of their security products because it is spread using unfair distribution methods, so it can easily show up on computer out of nowhere. This is not the only thing that makes people think that this program is a virus. As soon as it enters computer, OfferBox hijacks web browsers and starts displaying its ads. Beware that these notifications promise to help people save money on different shopping websites but in reality they only make people visit predetermined websites and make the money from that. If you think that OfferBox virus has infiltrated your computer, you must check it with reliable anti-spyware. Basically, this is the only way to get rid of this PUP.

How can OfferBox infiltrate my computer?

You may start noticing OfferBox redirects as soon as its web browser plugin infiltrates it. In most of the cases, it is done with a help of freeware and shareware, which is typically filled with various free additions. However, it seems that it can be prevented only by choosing Custom or Advanced installation of the freeware and then unchecking unknown check boxes. If you allowed OfferBox virus to enter your computer, you should be very careful with its ads because they may trick you into installing additional adware on the system. In order to avoid security problems, you should waste no time and remove OfferBox from your computer.
