What should I know about Pcbooster.com virus?

While browsing the web, you may encounter a variety of different potentially unwanted programs, including the Pcbooster.com virus. This virus can be classified as an adware-type program because it works by injecting numerous annoying ads into your browsing results. Pcbooster.com ads are mainly displayed in the form of pop-ups. However, some banners may be injected too. Once your computer is infected with this virus, ads will be displayed on random websites while you are browsing the Internet, regardless of whether you want to see them or not. These pop-up ads may suggest fake software updates or offer you to download other suspicious products. However, we should warn you not to click on any of these ads by Pcbooster.com. You never know to what sites you can be redirected. It is not uncommon for the sites recommended by this virus to be hazardous and possibly infectious. This is because programs like Pcbooster.com hijack browsers to promote the third-party websites through their ads. In this way, the traffic on these affiliate websites increases, while the virus developers receive payment for every user who is redirected to these sites. It is evident that this program is mainly interested in generating profit, so you should not expect any functionality from it. Therefore, we advise you not to hesitate and remove Pcbooster.com from your system. For the most effective removal, you can use some reputable anti-malware tools like Reimage.

To sum up, there are several symptoms you should look for if you feel you have been infected with this virus. First you may start noticing the increase of the banners and pop-up ads featuring slogans claiming that these advertisements are brought to you by Pcbooster.com. Also, text on random web pages can be turned into hyperlinks. Third aspect to pay attention to is the content of the ads. If they are recommending suspicious software or fake updates, there is a high possibility you have been infected. Last, but not least, you may find some new programs on your computer, which you do not remember downloading or installing. This is another major indication that you should take your computer’s health into consideration. If any of these symptoms manifests on your computer, you should run a scan of your system with antivirus tool which will take care of the Pcbooster.com removal and will protect you from similar PUPs in the future.

The example of Pcbooster.com virus

How did this virus get into my computer?

It is likely that this program appeared on your computer after you have downloaded some new software from the internet. Most likely you were infected after downloading the PC Booster tool from the official pcbooster.com website. If it is the case, then it means you might have been a victim of the deceptive marketing method called “bundling”, widely practiced by the creators of various PUPs around the globe. This practice is based on attaching the infectious files to other popular freeware programs, which can be downloaded from the internet. Usually, the links to downloading these programs are promoted on unreliable websites. Once you download and install the program, the infected content gets installed simultaneously without your permission. To avoid such situations in the future you should be careful about downloading and installing new software. Be sure to always use “Custom” or “Advanced” installation settings to disclose any additional files to be installed along with your downloaded software.

How do I remove Pcbooster.com from my computer?

If you want to delete this virus, you should be prepared to do a little bit more than simply uninstalling the program you suspect it may have come bundled with. You have two options to choose from if you want to remove Pcbooster.com from your computer fully. You can do it manually or automatically. We do not recommend the first option for the less experienced computer users. The simpler way is to scan the system with a trustworthy anti-malware tool and let it take care of the viruses for you. However, if you feel confident and want to try the manual Pcbooster.com removal method, we have prepared a detailed guide which will hopefully help you to accomplish that.

You can remove Pcbooster.com automatically with a help of one of these programs: Reimage, Plumbytes Anti-MalwareWebroot SecureAnywhere AntiVirus, Malwarebytes Anti Malware. We recommend these applications because they can easily delete potentially unwanted programs and viruses with all their files and registry entries that are related to them.
