Search.internetquickaccess.com virus. How to remove? (Uninstall guide)

removal by Lucia Danes - - | Type: Browser hijacker

Search.internetquickaccess.com description

Search.internetquickaccess.com is a name of an application developed by an infamous company that has already produced a lot of potentially unwanted programs (PUPs). This particular program is known as a browser hijacker; it is a kind of software that can be installed on your PC unnoticeably. When it enters your computer system, it installs an extension to all accessible web browsers. This browser add-on monitors your activity online – “We collect your IP address, referral data, and browser and platform type.” Moreover, it might collect your browsing history and collect search terms that you type into search bars on the web. We have a suspect that Search.internetquickaccess.com shares this information with third-party companies; however, we cannot 100% claim that is true.

Search.internetquickaccess.com virus

There are other considerable reasons why you should not rely on Search.internetquickaccess.com browser hijacker. We haven’t mentioned yet that this browser extension can replace your browser’s homepage; for obvious reasons, it replaces it with Search.internetquickaccess.com page. This website looks like a regular web search engine; however, it provides bogus search service because it mostly delivers sponsored search outcomes. You should also be careful because some of Internet Quick Access search results can be deceptive – they might promise to provide content that you were looking for, while in reality, some of them can cause Search.internetquickaccess.com redirects to predetermined third-party websites. Each of such redirects generates income for the Imalimedia company.

Questions about Search.internetquickaccess.com virus

Needless to say, these redirects are not good for you. First of all, such redirects are irritating; second, they can force you to visit harmful websites. Not all third-party websites are safe; some of them seek to promote questionable software, which may appear to be spyware or even malware. You should not leave Search.internetquickaccess.com hijacker installed on your computer if you are willing to avoid redirects that can possibly lead you to high-risk websites. Moreover, this app can make your system work slowly, and that is yet another negative feature of this program. We recommend removing this PUP with a professional spyware and malware removal tool, for example, Reimage. This software can remove this particular program, and also scan the whole system, find other computer threats and eliminate them.

How did Search.internetquickaccess.com hijack my computer?

It is not surprising why Search.internetquickaccess.com PUP is distributed in a vague way; the method which is used to distribute this browser parasite is called software bundling. Bundling means adding one program to another and spreading them together, presented as an ONE program. Unfortunately, you cannot reveal whether the software has optional apps attached to it or not until you launch the software’s installation wizard. To reveal is it promoting third-party software or not, you need to proceed to the ‘Settings’ and choose ‘Advanced’ or ‘Custom’ installation option. If the software that you wish to install advertises optional applications, you should see a list of them after selecting one of these installation options. Deselect the proposals to install them, and then proceed to the next installation step.

If you wish to get rid of this browser hijacker, but you do not want to install an anti-spyware program to remove it, you can use a manual Search.internetquickaccess.com removal guide, which is provided on the next page.
