Shield Safeness. How to remove? (Uninstall guide)

removal by Gabriel E. Hall - -   Also known as ShieldSafeness | Type: Rogue Antispyware

ShieldSafeness is a misleading application that gives false reports of threats and displays fake warnings on your computer to make you think your PC is badly infected with spyware, adware, Trojans and other malware. When running, this rogue application will prompt you to pay for a full version of the program to remove the threats. Of course, reported infections do not even exist. Usually, Shield Safeness detects absolutely harmless files as infection or serious computer security threats. This is nothing more but a scam, do not purchase this misleading application. Instead, uninstall ShieldSafeness from your PC upon detection.

Most of the time, ShieldSafeness is pushed through the use of fake online scanners and misleading websites that supposedly provide free online videos. Usually, a visitor of a misleading video website is prompted to install flash player updates in order to watch requested video. However, the truth is that these updates are actually Trojan viruses. When running, a Trojan virus will download ShieldSafeness on your PC. This application also has its homepage. Basically, it’s the same web template used to promote all the rogue programs form the WiniSoft family. You can’t download the rogue program from its home page. This is very strange, isn’t? Well, we may call this website a landing or pay page of Shield Safeness which obviously provides false information.

What is more, ShieldSafeness will impersonate Windows Security Center and state that your computer is unprotected. It will recommend you to activate the program to ensure full system protection. To make things worse, it will constantly display fake security alerts and notifications from Windows Task Bar. The fake messages state:

Spyware Alert!
Your computer is infected with spyware. It could damage your critical files or expose your private data on the Internet. Click here to register your copy of ShieldSafeness and remove spyware threats from your PC.
Attention: DANGER!
ShieldSafeness detected that This PC is NOT PROTECTED. Currently installed malware applications will cause:

fake ShieldSafeness alert

As you can see, ShieldSafeness is totally useless and dangerous application that should be removed from the system immediately. If you find that your computer is infected with this malware, please use the removal guide below to remove ShieldSafeness manually for free. I need to correct that process name. Its cifea.tmp.exe. It is not cfiea.tmp.exe. My apologies.
