Shujin ransomware virus. How to remove? (Uninstall guide)

removal by Jake Doevan - - | Type: Ransomware

Chinese-language Shujin ransomware – how does it work?

Shujin virus is a ransomware-type computer infection, which seems to be created to target Chinese computer users. Just like any other ransomware variant, Shujin encrypts victim’s files and demands ransom. What is more, ransom notes this computer threat leaves show that the author of this virus speaks Chinese; besides, the victim is advised to use Baidu search to find Tor browser and not Google. If you do not know this, Tor browser is anonymity network that ransomware authors often command victims to use, and this browser is needed in order to access a secret site that explains to the victim how to decrypt files that Ransom_SHUJIN.A virus has encrypted.

Shujin virus states that in order to recover the encrypted data, the victim has to download a decryption tool and get a machine code. Then the machine code needs to be submitted to the decryption site. Then the user must buy 1 BTC (approximately 888 USD) and pay to a particular Bitcoin address. Crooks promise to give the decryption key as soon as the victim completes the payment. However, even if your computer was infected with this virus, we do not recommend you to pay up. You can never know whether cyber criminals are going to give you the decryption software or not, and we bet that you do not waste such amount of money for nothing.

Questions about Shujin ransomware virus

It would be naive to rely on cyber criminals who have infected your computer with a ransomware virus. Therefore, we recommend you to remove Shujin malware from your computer without a delay. Ransomware is a highly complicated virus, and manual removal of it should be done only by IT experts. That is why we suggest using an anti-malware software (e.g. Reimage), which can automatically detect malicious Shujin files and eliminate them for good. If you do not know how to stop Shujin from blocking your computer security software, please take a look at Shujin removal instructions given on page 2.

How does Shujin spread?

Shujin malware was discovered recently, which means that there is not enough information about this virus yet. Therefore, it is unknown how Shujin spreads, but we would like to remind you how the majority of ransomware viruses spread. Usually, they reach victims via email; if you do not want to infect your computer, stay away from emails sent by unknown companies or individuals. No matter if you receive a curriculum vitae, or an invoice, or a speeding ticket – if it comes from an unknown or suspicious sender, DO NOT open it. Ransomware executes easily – all you need to do is to open the infectious email attachment.

To protect your computer from malware, install a reliable anti-malware software on your computer. It is the most efficient way of securing your PC. What is more, you should regularly create data copies and store them on external storage drives (unplug them from your PC, so that viruses would not be able to reach them). The bad news is that the majority of ransomware threats use advanced and complicated crypto-algorithms to encrypt victim’s data, and in the majority of cases, such algorithms are impossible to crack. It means that users who do not have backups basically have no hope to recover their files without paying a ransom. Again, we would like to remind you that paying up does not guarantee that crooks will provide you with the decryption key.
