System Veteran. How to remove? (Uninstall guide)

removal by Linas Kiguolis - -   Also known as SystemVeteran | Type: Rogue Antispyware

SystemVeteran is a misleading application from the WiniSoft family that gives false reports of infections or threats, displays fake security alerts and uses browser/desktop hijacking to make you think your computer is infected with Trojans, spyware and other malicious software. The misleading application is pushed through the use of Trojans, fake online scanners or may come bundled with other malware. However, most of the time such rogue applications are promoted through the use of Trojans and social engineering techniques. When active, System Veteran will prompt you to pay for a full version of the program to remove the supposedly found threats. Of course, you shouldn’t do that. This is a scam. Instead, uninstall SystemVeteran from your computer as soon as possible.

Once installed, SystemVeteran will run fake computer scans each time you log in into Windows. As we have already mentioned, the scan results are false. You may safely ignore them. What is more, the rogue program will display fake security alerts and notifications stating that your computer is in danger, baldy infected or under attack by an Internet Virus. That is obviously a scam too. SystemVeteran even impersonates Windows Security Center [Figure 2]. It states that you don’t have a proper virus protection and that you should activate System Veteran to ensure full system protection.

SystemVeteran fake security center looks just like the legitimate one

Furthermore, this program will hijack Internet Explorer and take you to various misleading websites full of fake reviews and advertisements. Very likely, it will block security websites to protect itself from being deleted. Some system tools may be blocked or disabled too. For example, Task Manager or System Restore. As you can see, this malware is quite dangerous system security threat. Please use the removal guide below to remove SystemVeteran from your PC manually for free. If you have already purchased this bogus program, contact your credit card company and dispute the charges. We also strongly recommend you to scan your computer with a reliable and legitimate anti-spyware application to see if there are no leftovers.
