Websearchinc.net virus. How to remove? (Uninstall guide)

Websearchinc.net browser hijacker might take control over the most popular web browsers

Websearchinc.net is a suspicious search engine created by California-based company Support Expert, Inc. Nevertheless, it may look like an ordinary search engine; it is described as a potentially unwanted program (PUP) and a browser hijacker for several reasons. First of all, it may travel in software bundles and enter the system silently. Secondly, it might alter browser’s settings and set its domain as default search engine without leaving users the right to revert these changes easily. Thirdly, it might track information about users and based on aggregated data provide commercial content. So-called Websearchinc.net virus might also alter search results and include sponsored third-party links in order to boost traffic to these sites and get advertising based revenue. This task is not hard to complete because this search tool does not redirect searches to Google or Yahoo. It uses its own search algorithm that gives the power to mess up with search results and force users to browse through irrelevant third-party sites. Apart from being unable to find useful information, users might also be tricked into visiting shady, misleading or even potentially dangerous websites.[1] Thus if you want to avoid cyber threats and surf the Internet normally again, you should remove Websearchinc.net immediately. In order to speed up the process, employ Reimage and scan the device with it.

The image of Websearchinc.net

Suspicious Websearchinc.net redirect tendencies are not only related to altered search results. The hijacker might also deliver third-party advertisements that promote various products or services, provides great shopping offers, and sometimes give fake warnings about outdated software or detected viruses. These ads are extremely dangerous because they might trick you into installing bogus software or download malicious file on the system immediately. One of the biggest problems with these ads is that they might look legitimate and interesting. It might happen because Websearchinc.net is capable of tracking information about users. The Privacy Policy of the program reveals that it might ask users to provide personal information[2] when they use this website and other products, participate in surveys, WebSearch Inc. account, etc. Apart from that, this program also uses cookies to track browsing-related information and technical details about the browser. Aggregated data is supposed to help to improve their services and provide compelling commercial content. Thus, your browser and inbox might be filled with numerous ads or newsletters. As you can see this program is designed to work as a marketing tool that does not benefit its users. That’s why you should not think twice about Websearchinc.net removal and get rid of this program right now.

Distribution tendencies of the browser hijacker

Developers of the potentially unwanted programs usually rely on bundling technique. This questionable software marketing method allows adding such programs as optional components in software packages as additional components. During the installation of freeware or shareware, users may find the pre-selected agreement to make Websearchinc.net their default search engine. Thus, if they keep this option ticked, their browsers are hijacked. However, the most import part here is that in order to find this statement, users have to opt for the “Advanced” or “Custom” installation of a new program. Sadly, it rarely happens. The majority of users still rely on “Standard” or “Quick” settings that rarely disclose about third-party apps. What is more, all additional components included in the bundle are being installed silently. Thus, Websearchinc.net hijack might occur during incorrect installation of the free programs. To stop PUPs from entering the system, you have always chosen advanced installation wizard.

Removing Websearchinc.net from the start-page

To remove Websearchinc.net from the browser, you have to investigate computer’s system and uninstall all suspicious programs from the Control Panel. Once it’s done, you need to check the list of extensions of each of the installed web browsers and remove all unknown entries. Finally, you have to reset the browsers in order to get rid of tracking cookies and other hijacker-related entries. Indeed, manual Websearchinc.net removal may require putting some effort and time. But if you want to speed up this procedure, opt for the automatic option and run a full system scan with a reputable anti-malware program.

You can remove Websearchinc.net automatically with a help of one of these programs: Reimage, Plumbytes Anti-MalwareWebroot SecureAnywhere AntiVirus, Malwarebytes Anti Malware. We recommend these applications because they can easily delete potentially unwanted programs and viruses with all their files and registry entries that are related to them.
