What is Windows Cleaner?
Windows Cleaner is a misleading application that has already been labeled as potentially unwanted program. No matter that it is presented as powerful PC optimization program that is capable of helping people eliminate outdated registry entries and increase their PCs' speed in this way, it seems that it can hardly deliver what it promises. In most of the cases, Windows Cleaner causes continuous pop-up ads on people's computers that keep reporting about various computer-related issues. You may be informed about some bad registry entries, junk files, useless shortcuts and similar issues. However, that's not the worst thing caused by this program. Windows Cleaner may also trick you into installing Spigot Toolbar or Vtools Toolbar on your computer that have already been mentioned on our blog. Please, do NOT agree with their installation because they are useless programs that may initiate various inconveniences on your computer. When having these programs installed on your machine, you may notice redirects to unknown websites, various commercial pop-up notifications and slow downs on each of your browsers. Finally, Spigot or Vtools may try to collect information about your browsing habits because it may act as a tracking cookie that is especially interested in people's mostly visited websites, data that is entered on them and similar personally non-identiafiable information. Please, do NOT ignore this statement because you can never know what people this data may be sent to. You should remove Windows Cleaner with Spigot and other related adwares from your computer as soon as it shows up.
How can Windows Cleaner hijack my computer?
As you may have already understood, Windows Cleaner is presented as a PC optimization program created by Vtools Inc. However, after testing it on our computer, we noticed that it can hardly increase its speed because it is capable of detecting only a small part of out dated registry entries and junk files. By the way, this program can be downloaded not only for its official or other download websites. It may also enter your PC unnoticed. That's because it is spread using a distribution method, which is known as 'bundling'. It is known that Windows Cleaner virus is mostly promoted with a help of other potentially unwanted program BetterMarkIt. Please, think twice before installing it on your computer because it may not only initiate various unwanted system changes and additional activities on your computer. It may also drop Windows Cleaner on it. In order to prevent infiltration of unwanted software, you should always dedicate some time for the installation of free software. For that we recommend selecting either Custom or Advanced installation. If this program has already entered your computer, it created and dropped these files on it: GTaskShedule.dll, UninstallPromote.exe, AutoUpdate.exe, RegistryDefragBootTime.exe, Install.exe, etc. In order to remove them from the system, you can opt for manual removal or use automatic removal tools.
