Windows Safeguard Upgrade is a rogue anti-spyware program that it uses false scan results and fake security pop ups to trick you into thinking that your computer is infected with viruses and spyware. This fake anti-spyware program is promoted via Trojans and malware that display fake security alerts and also via spam emails and social networks. This fake program may be also distributed via exploit packs. Regardless of the method, the main goal of Windows Safeguard Upgrade is to trick you into thinking you are infected and thus you purchase the software. Once Windows Safeguard Upgrade is installed on your computer, it will be configured to start automatically when you log on into Windows. When running, the rogue program will scan your computer for viruses and report many virus infections that supposedly cannot be removed unless you first purchase the rogue anti-spyware program.
