Windows Web Shield. How to remove? (Uninstall guide)

removal by Alice Woods - -   Also known as Windows Web Shield virus | Type: Rogue Antispyware

Windows Web Shield is a fake security tool that was detected several days ago. Similarly to other rogue anti-spywares, this program promises to help people remove unwanted malware, malicious applications and other cyber threats. Of course, it has no ability to do that and all what this program does is imitates system scan and then displays fake scan results. As you can imagine, it may warn you about tens of different infections and risks. However, it will never remove these infections for you. For “giving” you this ability, it asks to buy Windows Web Shield licensed version. Please, do NOT buy this program because it has an empty virus data base and no ability to detect any cyber infection. It is just another scam, which is used for swindling the money from naive people. Moreover, by buying it you can easily reveal your credit card information and other valuable information for cyber criminals.

How can Windows Web Shield infect my computer?

It looks like Windows Web Shield virus is yet another creation of the same group of cyber crooks that are responsible for releasing Windows Internet Guard, Windows Security Master, Windows Web Watchdog, etc. All these rogue anti-spyware programs belong to the notoriously known FakeVimes virus family and use the same distribution methods. In order to avoid Windows Web Shield, you should stay away from unsafe websites and corrupted email attachments. If you are visiting a questionable website, you should ignore all misleading notifications that typically offer installing missing updates and similar programs. Moreover, Windows Web Shield may also travel around with a help of malicious email attachment, so please be very careful with questionable mails from unknown sources. If you are seeing such and similar alerts, it means that this dubious program is already hiding in your system.
