Ad Where 2005 review

by Jake Doevan - - | Type: Corrupt Anti-Spyware

Ad-Where 2005 uses false positives. We have installed free evaluation copy on clean system and performed full system scan. Program has found 5 suspicious registry entries that supposedly were components of browser hijackers (see screenshot below). However, no browser hijackers were installed to our test system. All found registry entries related to legitimate software (Microsoft Internet Explorer, Windows Update service, TGTSoft StyleXP theme manager) and did not possess any threat.

Free evaluation version refuses to remove found parasites. It asks to register and purchase full commercial version.

Ad-Where 2005 functions, settings, interface and other components exactly resemble those found in other antispyware products, such as AdDriller, AdwareX Eliminator or ADS AdwareSpy. All these programs are knockoffs of legitimate Ad-Aware antispyware. They use the same spyware definitions database and produce similar scan results.

The official domain, associated with Ad-Where 2005 is ad-where.com. There are no detailed product description, screenshots and company information. Design is poor and unprofessional.

We DO NOT recommend purchasing or using Ad-Where 2005.
