Kill & Clean does not only use false positives, but also creates malicious objects during system scans. Those objects are mostly harmful registry keys related to certain parasites. The program does not actually install any threats, but only creates some apparently harmless objects, which it then identifies as dangerous pests. This is made in order to deceive the user and trick him or her into purchasing Kill & Clean.
We have carefully tested the application on absolutely clean uninfected computer. Kill & Clean managed to find 16 malicious objects related to different parasites. Further analysis revealed that 7 items were false positives, as their files and keys actually belong to installed fully legitimate software including the SpyCatcher Express spyware remover and Adobe Reader. Other purportedly malicious objects were created by Kill & Clean during the system scan. See a screenshot provided below.
System scan doesn’t take more than one minute. Apparently Kill & Clean doesn’t check the larger part of the system at all.
The program is a clone of Scan&Clean and UnSpyPC, the infamous illegally distributed spyware remover. All these applications have the same interface, use very similar spyware definitions database and consist of terribly similar components.
Kill & Clean is illegally distributed with the help of dangerous parasites, malicious advertisements and certain exploits. In our opinion, the program’s vendor and its affiliates must be held fully responsible for such issues.
