We have installed MyNetProtector Anti-Spyware on clean uninfected computer and performed system scan with high protection level enabled. The application has checked 3 files. All of them were reported to be infected. However, these files were normal safe cookies. The program did not perform full system scan. It didn’t scanned the registry, running processes and remaining files. Screenshot provided below proves that this program has poor performance and uses false positives.
The End User License Agreement says that MyNetProtector Anti-Spyware may contain third-party advertising software or other addons (see another screenshot). Tested version wasn’t bundled with such software. However, previous versions, released in the middle of 2004, included multiple adware and spyware, such as BargainBuddy, eZula, WebHancer.
The official site mynetprotector.com doesn’t contain adequate information about developers of this product. Limited version of MyNetProtector Anti-Spyware can be downloaded for free. Authors call it “trial”. However, the real trial includes all functions available in full version, but works only for certain period of time. Then it asks to uninstall it or purchase full version. Free version of MyNetProtector Anti-Spyware cannot be called trial. It refuses to remove found files and asks to register and purchase full version.
We highly recommend to avoid this program.
