SlimShield uses anti-competitive practices by detecting legitimate spyware removers as a spyware parasites. We have installed SlimShield to absolutely clean system. The application has found 9 parasites, including CoolWebSearch adware, TinTel dialer, Swen Internet worm, etc. Scan report also contained entries related to fully legitimate SpyHunter antispyware and similar product called ScanSpyware, which were installed on our test computer. Other objects did not exist at all. System scan was incredibly fast and took only few seconds. It looks like the program doesn’t actually scan the system for spyware. These facts prove that SlimShield uses false positives.
Developers offer free version on the official site slimshield.com. However, it doesn’t work as expected. It asks to purchase and activate the program immediately after startup. All functions and even “Close” button remain inaccessible because of “Activate subscription” window. Free version is meant to trick users into purchasing full product.
This application is a clone of SpyiKiller antispyware. Its interface, spyware definitions database and scan results are the same. Program files, main executables and running processes also doesn’t differ. SpyiKiller doesn’t start when SlimShield is active and vice versa. Moreover, the official site is a rebranded copy of spyikiller.com. Compare screenshots provided below.
We DO NOT recommend purchasing SlimShield!
