SpyMarshal is corrupt anti-spyware that uses ridiculous false positives as goad to purchase. The program is a clone of the infamous Spy Sheriff rogue. It is related to several notorious vendors and corrupt products they sell.
The application uses ridiculous false positives. We have tested it on absolutely clean computer that was never infected with any viruses, spyware or other malicious threats. Nevertheless, SpyMarshal managed to identify 16 infected objects related to 4 different parasites. Further analysis revealed that neither of detected objects was actually malicious. They all were safe and related to fully legitimate software.
For instance, files plugin.dll and readme.html were actually associated with Adobe Photoshop CS2 and definitely not Trojan VX 11. The mac.exe executable is the main part of Monkey’s Audio, music compression program, and is not a viral parasite. Other software, which parts were identified as threats: Sybase PowerDesigner 11, Java Runtime, Vim, Windows updates.
We have also tested SpyMarshal on a badly infected computer. Results are horrific. The program could not detect even a single widely spread parasite, while legitimate spyware removers installed to the same system later easily found hundreds of infected objects related to multiple different parasites.
SpyMarshal is a clone of Spy Sheriff, SpywareNo!, SpyDemolisher, Brave Sentry and other corrupt anti-spyware programs. All these programs have identical user interfaces and produce very similar scan results.
