Remove Antivirus XP. Description and removal instructions

Title: Antivirus XP
Also known as: Antivirus XP 2008, AntivirusXP 2008, AntivirusXP2008
Type: Malware
Severity scale:Antivirus XP severity is 80  (80 / 100)

Antivirus XP is a new rogue anti-spyware program - a fake spyware remover, which uses trojans, such as Zlob or Vundo, to enter the system. This parasite is a clone of Antivirus 2008, which has been very popular recently - this is more than evident when you count all the clones Antivirus 2008 has produced over the past few weeks.

Antivirus XP uses popups and fake system notifications as a means to intimidate the user by leading him to believe he is infected. This is usually false information, but this method is used to create a reason for the user to buy an antispyware program (to be more precise - Antivirus XP).

Antivirus XP is a scam and should be treated as such: do NOT download or buy it and block it's websites Anti-Virus-XP.com, A-VXP08.net and Online-Security-Systems.com using your HOSTS file.

I don't recommend downloading the spywaredoctor program because all the free version lets you do is scan and find the problem, without being able to get rid of it. you have to buy the program just to get rid of the virus. i recommend looking somewhere else

Smitfraudfix, SDfix, MBAM all work on 2008 and 2009. BUT 2009 includes the tdssserv rootkit which requires you to rename all the executable antivirus files you run. Going on my 6th removal. port city tech solutions

There's nothing wrong with using Internet Explorer.
Just don't torrent suspicous .exe files, etc.
That's what gets you crap like this.
