Parasite removal tools

This section provides the list of separate parasite removal tools designed to find and remove specific trojans, worms, viruses, spyware or adware threats. The difference between these parasite removal tools and regular anti-spyware or antivirus products is that the applications below are not full-scale protection programs, but quite simple, lightweight utilities used to remove only one parasite and/or some of its variants. Almost all parasite removal tools are free applications that can be downloaded from different web sites. Their makers usually do not provide any support.

Our tests revealed that all the applications here do not damage the compromised system and actually do what they are intended to do. Each tool in the list comes with a review describing its purpose and effectiveness. It also includes program screenshots, information on its main functions and overall performance.

It must be noted that most parasite removal tools are designed to remove only one single threat and/or several its variants. Neither of these tools can provide effective protection against emerging viral threats, newly appeared spyware or adware parasites. Furthermore, these tools are useful only for removing pests, which already hit the system, but not for preventing the infection. That is why parasite removal tools cannot replace regular anti-spyware programs. They are just complementary utilities.
