Linkbucks.com virus is also known as Linkbucks.com redirect | Type: Browser Hijackers | Tags: Google redirect

Linkbucks.com is a social advertising network, which let’s webmasters earn money from commercial pop-up ads and notifications. It was founded in 2005 and it is a legitimate social advertising network. However, no matter that there’s nothing wrong with the page itself, its advertisers have sometimes been misusing their tools. First of all, they have been spreading their web browser plugins (that are used to display ads within web browsers) with a help of unfair techniques. In most of the cases, they have been relying on freeware and shareware, so they have tricked hundreds of PC users worldwide. Secondly, they have been displaying LinkBucks links whereever and whenever they want and have clearly earned lots of money from that. If you noticed these ads and similar problems, you should follow a guide at the end of this post and remove this hijacker.

Such infections like browser hijackers are typically spread with a help of freeware and shareware. What is browser hijacker?

Browser hijacker is a malicious program, usually a web browser plug-in or add-ons, which modifies web browser settings in order to change default search page, home page, new tab or error page. After that, it starts unwanted redirects to undesirable Internet sites. A browser hijacker also can record all web pages the user visits and send gathered information out through a background Internet connection.

Practically all browser hijackers are created for commercial, advertising or marketing purposes. However, there are lots of malicious versions of these programs that similarly to spyware or adware threats can be installed on the system without user's consent and often hide deep inside the system for avoiding their removal.

Symptoms showing that your computer was infected by Linkbucks.com:

•  Changes in homepage and/or default search engine

I tried to use Mc Afee, SpyHunter and Hitman Pro and none of them removed Linkbucks from my Window 8. I dont know what other proffessional spyware to use. I had the impression that I wasted money for nothing.
