WHAT IS SKYEMOJI?
This time, the developers of suspicious programs are targeting at the users of Skype, especially those who are tempted to express their emotions using emoticons. SkyEmoji presumably displays hidden Skype emoticons and enhances your Skyping experience. However, while it might seem as a tempting feature to have on your Skype, its benefits does not outweigh its drawbacks at any costs. First of all, while it pretends to be a handy application (provided it is very important for you to use fancy Skype emoticons), pay attention to the fact that you have not probably downloaded it from its official website. It has appeared on your computer just like out of nowhere and, as a coincidence, your Internet Explorer, Google Chrome or Mozzila Firefox browser is now crawling with all sorts of ads like sponsored ads, deals, offers, banners, pop-ups, plug-ins, add-ons, underlined words in texts. What is more, these ads have a text written underneath or above them saying something like “Ads by SkyEmoji”, “ SkyEmoji Ads”, “By SkyEmoji”, “Powered by SkyEmoji” or “Brought to you by SkyEmoji”. Therefore, if you dot the i's you may understand that the sole purpose of SkyEmoji is to cram your browser with every kind of ad you can imagine, because it receives income every time you click on them. While plainly annoying, these ads popping up in new windows and tabs can be dangerous as well. They might redirect you to websites full of questionable content which might infect your computer with various viruses or install other programs on your computer without your consent. No wonder SkyEmoji is classified as adware and a potentially unwanted program. It tracks your browsing-related information and shares it with third parties. Things like your search queries, browsing history and similar information might be transfered to third parties and used for all sorts of activities we can only guess. Therefore, be one step ahead and perform a full system scan with a reputable anti-spyware tool like FortectIntego.

HOW CAN SKYEMOJI HIJACK MY COMPUTER?
As we have already mentioned, even though you are a Skype aficionado, its appearance on your computer has nothing to do with it or is rather a strange coincidence. You've just encountered bundling. Bundling means that some freeware or shareware's setup is packed with third-party programs which are secretly installed on your computer behind your back. It is still possible to avoid it, if you take charge of the installation process. Always check Advanced and Custom options which usually harbor PUPs and other nasty applications you may not want ending up on your computer. Therefore, check each step in the setup as well as these options and save yourself from a lot of trouble. What is more, avoid third-party download managers and installers which tend to distribute such programs.
