What happens when TControl adware infiltrates a computer system?
One thing you must remember is that TControl virus has no right to bother you. Also known as TmtkControl virus, it is a pesky adware-type[1] program, which will definitely get on your nerves. You will soon notice that TControl adware uses your web browsers as tools to open third-party websites with worthless pieces of information on them and dozens of advertisements next to them. Here are some examples of URLs that TmtkControl redirect virus points to: mybikeisred.com, gentoo2isback.com, impossibledefairepire.com, myburgeriscoming.com and loads of others. This ad-supported software keeps redirecting[2] the victim from one page to another to because it wants to falsely increase the number of visitors to each site so that ads placed in them would be seen by a greater number of people. Some of these sites share information about celebrities, others provide general descriptions of different types of sports, Bollywood, and other random topics. However, although these sites present themselves with such phrase: “This website is only here to show what the human culture can do when you want to help people to know each other and to start learning things like this,” it is clear that it is nonsense, and the primary goal of using an adware program that is distributed via software packages is to generate money by employing pay-per-click advertising model.
You must know that it is not always safe to click on web ads, even if they appear in an attractive form and present eye-catching deals, offers or information. Sometimes web ads are composed based on user’s interests, and then they can be used as bait to lure the victim into visiting pre-determined third-party[3] websites that might have nothing in common with the ad clicked. In the worst scenario, one of these redirects can take you to a deceptive website that contains links leading to malicious files or programs. There is no reason to contemplate about the utility of targeted web ads presented by adware programs, so we suggest you remove TControl adware – the sooner, the better. We prepared TControl removal instructions in case you want to delete the threat manually, but we strongly recommend the automatic removal method, which can be implemented with FortectIntego or another anti-spyware program.
How did I get infected with TControl adware?
Authors of adware, browser hijackers, and similar potentially unwanted programs do not try to reinvent the bike and typically use the same old spyware distribution technique that is based on software bundling. They bundle[4] their products with better known free programs such as download managers, media players or games, which helps to trick unsuspecting victims into installing the bundled programs without even realizing it. The reason why users install such software packs without realizing that they contain additional programs is that they tend to rely on wrong installation settings[5]. We always advise computer users to deselect bundled items via Custom or Advanced settings when installing new computer programs. Do not make the wrong choice by selecting Default or Standard installation settings, unless you want to let programs like TControl hijack your PC.
How can I remove TControl ads?
Of course, there is no need to mention that the easiest way to remove TControl virus is to let the anti-spyware program do its job and delete files that belong to this adware automatically. However, sometimes people do not want to use automatic malware removal tools for various reasons, and that is OK, despite the fact that the automatic removal method is always a safer option to choose. Manual TControl removal option is a bit more complicated one, but if you use these instructions prepared by our team, it shouldn’t be a challenging task to complete.
