ClickCaption ads Removal Guide
What is Ads by ClickCaption?
What is ClickCaption?
ClickCaption is one of those programs that have been labeled as “potentially unwanted programs” (PUPs). It is also categorized as an ‘adware’ because sometimes it seems that it was created for the only thing – affiliate marketing. You may even not understand that this program seeks to redirect you to affiliate websites when having it installed on the system because the only clear thing that it does is showing people various pop-up notifications. ‘Ads by ClickCaption’, ‘brought to your by ClickCaption’ and similar notifications may be filled with various information, such as coupons, discounts, price comparisons, etc. If you don’t want to visit unknown or suspicious website, you should avoid these ads. In addition, sometimes this program starts tracking PC users and collects various information about their browsing habits. What information is collected is a secret. Officially, ClickCaption is used to record search queries, mostly visited websites, time that people spend on each of them, data that they enter, etc. No matter that it may sound like a harmless activity, we don’t recommend you to allow it. Please, try to keep such data for yourself and avoid such programs as ClickCaption virus. In order to know how it may appear on your computer without downloading it, you should read the next paragraph.

How can ClickCaption hijack my computer?

If you see any mentions about ClickCaption (it may be presented as a valuable browser add-on), you should opt out of such suggestions by unchecking the check mark that says that you agree with its installation. Otherwise, you may let this program initiate various system modifications, cause unwanted slow downs, redirects and pop-up ads. If ClickCaption redirects have started bothering you, you shouldn’t ignore them because, as we have already said, they may trick you into visiting unsafe websites that may be used for spreading suspicious programs. In addition, this program may be used for tracking you and collecting personally non identifiable information. This may lead you to such inconveniences as an increased amount of spam and similar things. In order to remove ClickCaption adware from your computer, you can use these steps:

How to prevent from getting adware
Choose a proper web browser and improve your safety with a VPN tool
Online spying has got momentum in recent years and people are getting more and more interested in how to protect their privacy online. One of the basic means to add a layer of security – choose the most private and secure web browser. Although web browsers can't grant full privacy protection and security, some of them are much better at sandboxing, HTTPS upgrading, active content blocking, tracking blocking, phishing protection, and similar privacy-oriented features. However, if you want true anonymity, we suggest you employ a powerful Private Internet Access VPN – it can encrypt all the traffic that comes and goes out of your computer, preventing tracking completely.
Lost your files? Use data recovery software
While some files located on any computer are replaceable or useless, others can be extremely valuable. Family photos, work documents, school projects – these are types of files that we don't want to lose. Unfortunately, there are many ways how unexpected data loss can occur: power cuts, Blue Screen of Death errors, hardware failures, crypto-malware attack, or even accidental deletion.
To ensure that all the files remain intact, you should prepare regular data backups. You can choose cloud-based or physical copies you could restore from later in case of a disaster. If your backups were lost as well or you never bothered to prepare any, Data Recovery Pro can be your only hope to retrieve your invaluable files.
