It is important to note that you do not necessarily have to visit the site or download the browser add-on on your computer. In most cases, the DonutArcade hijack occurs without any permissions asked. So you have to be careful to notice changes in your browser. It is recommended that you periodically check for newly added browser extensions and react instantly if you notice anything suspicious. Also, inspect the ads you see on the websites you visit. If they feature slogans like “DonutArcade ads”, “Ads by DonutArcade” or something along those lines, it is likely that your computer is infected with adware. This means that your browsing may be spied on, and the health of your computer may be exposed to a variety of risks. One of such risks worth addressing is the DonutArcade redirect issue. Essentially, this means that the virus may not even stuff your browser with annoying ads but also use them to redirect you to obscure websites where you can easily contract some nasty cyber infection. Needless to say, you should remove DonutArcade from a device that displays these symptoms without wasting any time. You apply reputable antivirus tools, such as Reimage to achieve that.

How adware infect computers?

The majority of adware programs, including DonutArcade, spread through software packages. This deceptive marketing tactic is called “bundling” and is widely used in the distribution of potentially unwanted programs. The principle of this technique is simple. The potentially unwanted programs are added to the software packages containing other popular programs such as download managers, PDF converters, etc., and install alongside them. The users are usually unaware of the full contents of such software packages because this information is hidden in the Advanced/Custom installation settings. Unfortunately, these setting are rarely chosen for installation. Consequently, a lot of users get infected. To stop potentially unwanted programs entering your computer, you should always opt for the advanced installation and terminate all the suspicious programs before they reach your system.
