What is SongLyrics?
SongLyrics is another free app that can be downloaded from its official website and other download sources. It is promoted as a browser add-on, which is supposed to provide users with the most accurate and authentic lyrics for old and freshly-baked songs. Unfortunately, the service that it offers is not worth suffering various inconveniences that it may additionally cause during your browsing. Security experts have already categorized it as an adware and a potentially unwanted program (PUP), which basically means that it may infiltrate your computer bundled with other freewares and start displaying sponsored advertisements.
If you get in touch with a bundled freeware and unconsciously install it along with all attachments, SongLyrics, first of all, may hijack your web browsers (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Safari) and start initiating pop-up ads, banner ads, in-text links, full-page ads, and other intrusive forms of advertisements informing about various deals, discounts, coupons, and other shopping-related things. The emergence of the 'Ads by SongLyrics', 'SongLyrics Ads', 'SongLyrics Deals' and similarly marked ads is the main indicator that this adware from lyrics family, which also includes Boby Lyrics, LyricsBuddy, LyricsContainer, Lyricsget, etc. is hiding in your computer. Do you know that each of these ads pose a risk to your PC's security? That's because it's not clear which of them are connected with reliable websites and which contain third-party links to suspicious or even malicious websites. Thus, it's better that you avoid all SongLyrics redirects by ignoring ads without any exceptions.
Besides, we have found various users' reports the majority of which blame SongLyrics add-on for increasing PC's security vulnerabilities, leading to other infections, causing slowdowns and similar issues. Nevertheless, none of the users is aware of the fact that this adware may also collect personally non-identifiable information about them and use it for marketing and other means. If you want to keep your computer safe, you should take certain actions and get rid of this adware ASAP. The most reliable way to do that is to run a full system scan with FortectIntego (Windows OS) or FortectIntego (Mac OS X).

How can SongLyrics hijack my computer?
SongLyrics is a typical adware and a potentially unwanted program that is distributed using both legitimate and unfair methods. First of all, it may be found promoted on the official websites for free. In addition, it may be traced during the installation of other freewares and sharewares, i.e. if you tend to install freewares carefully, it's very likely that you will run into a check box stating that you agree to install SongLyrics virus, set XXX as your default start page, install another add-ons, plug-in, toolbar, etc. and will unmark each of these offers. However, in order to get the ability to do that, you have to select Advanced or Custom installation option (in contrast to Quick/Basic), check every check box attentively and unmark ticks that are set by default. Do you receive SongLyrics ads constantly? If yes, then do not waste your time.
