What is Ask-TB.com?

Ask-TB.com should never be called as virus, so you can use it if you think that it helps you to find what you need on the Internet. However, this search engine may show up on your web browser without your permission asked and then start displaying various ads during your browsing. In addition, it may show you search results that may try to make you visit affiliate websites. Finally, it may drop cookies on your PC system and may start tracking your browsing on the web. In most of the cases, such programs are used to collect personally NON-IDENTIFIABLE information, such as people’s browsing habits, favorite websites and time that is spent on each of them. These and some other activities have made several security experts to include this search engine to the group of potentially unwanted programs. Please, be careful with this program and, if you don’t want to see its ads or similar content, remove it from your computer. If it has already appeared on your Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer or other web browser, you shouldn’t ignore that. The easiest way to remove Ask-TB.com virus from the system is to uninstall this program from task manager and each of your web browsers. We also think that you should scan your machine with the reputable anti-spyware to make sure that it is totally safe.

How can Ask-TB.com appear on my computer?

Ask-TB.com shows up on the system after installation of this search engine. You can download it on your computer voluntarily because it has lots of friendly-looking features. In addition, you should know that this program is also actively spread using third party software, so you can easily download it on your computer without having an idea about that. For avoiding this, remember that free programs can easily be filled with ‘optional downloads’ that, no matter how trustworthy they look, may initiate problems during your browsing. If you want to avoid unexpected downloads, you should know that it’s not hard to avoid them. For that, you should start selecting Custom or Advanced installation of the freeware first of all. Once you do so, uncheck all checkboxes that say: ‘Make Ask-TB.com my homepage’ or ‘Make Ask-TB.com my default search engine’.
