This thing is so annoying! EVERYTIME I would search for something, a popup window would come up and show me discounts, deals and special offers on whatever I was searching for. Ad-aware never detected it. I had to use Bazooka Spyware Scanner to finally find it. It was easily removed thank goodness. Does anyone know what program this came bundled with? Just so I know to boycott that product and its company.

Not sure if this SearchAssistant is the same thing or not. Installs as %systemdir%msbb.exe and is from Odysseusmarketing.com, same fine people who bring us browser helper object Clientman. Very evil and pernicious. The new Spybot S&D v.1.3 does not seem to remove it permanently, but if you don't yet have it, Spybot S&D's new "teatime" plugin will not let it load if you stumble across it.

Holy shit, I can't believe this thing is legal. I suck at web page building, but someone needs to build a website speaking out against search assistant. T
Spyware is not that simple, 180SearchAssistant does not come bundled with a program, it is coded in to webpages or a popup from a webpage, there are two thing that you can do. Install a good popup blocker, and don't go to strange webpages and never let anyone use your computer, or be ready to research a problem and know what progams are installed on your machine because lets face it, this sort of malicious code is not going away. But at least there are those of us that are on your side!

I have a copy of a malicious DLL file that pops into my system folder, every couple of days. It creates another DLL file that changes my start page and calls pop-ups telling me that my computer is infected with spyware.

Would someone like to take a look at this file and tell me what they can about it? like, where did it come from? I can delete it, but it keeps coming back, and it does so as soon as I log on to the internet, before I visit a single web page.
