SpyAxe reviewSpyAxe is a simple, fast and user-friendly spyware remover developed by the same named company. It was carefully tested on several computers including already infected systems as well as absolutely clean PCs. The application passed all our tests and produced sufficiently good results.SpyAxe checks the Windows registry, running processes, cookies and entire file system. The user can choose between two scan modes - Quick Scan and Full System Scan. Both are really fast and effective enough. Full System Scan is configurable. The user can tell the program to scan absolutely all local files and folders or check only specified locations. During our tests SpyAxe detected nearly all preinstalled spyware and adware parasites and quite precisely recognized them. It provided the exact location of each critical object and name of a parasite it belong to. Despite the fact that reputable anti-spyware tools, such as Microsoft AntiSpyware Beta and Spyware Doctor detected a much more larger number of malicious files and registry entries than SpyAxe, we think that the application showed good performance. Its pest detection and removal approach is competent enough to protect the system and user privacy. SpyAxe uses regularly updated spyware definitions database. Currently it consists of more than 34,000 signatures. The application does not have any additional tools. It includes only the most common functions like Quarantine and Ignore List. Full registered version should come with a complimentary pop-up blocker, task and startup managers. The program's interface is clean and convenient. Free unregistered version of SpyAxe refuses to remove any dangerous objects it finds. It asks to register and purcahse full product. The official web site is www.spyaxe.com. UPDATE 04/11/2005 2-Spyware.com research center took a decision to move SpyAxe into the Corrupt anti-spyware category because of deceptive and aggressive advertising issues related with its name. The program was initially classified as a reliable anti-spyware, but unfortunately its vendor and/or affiliates began to use aggressive advertising methods in order to promote SpyAxe. We received numerous user reports and complaints stating that their computers are infected with a particular trojan that displays fake warning messages saying "Your computer is infected!" and asking to download and purchase SpyAxe. These messages contain links leading to the official web site of SpyAxe. Although we do not know who is actually responsible for these issues (the program's vendor denies all charges), you shouldn't buy SpyAxe until the situation will turn out. hey, i have a custom blocking list for SpywareBlaster that prevents spyaxe and spywarestrike from loading :P
too many of my good customers get this $hit so use the software that prevents it in the first place right.

Report your SpyAxe story to the FTC at www.fbi.gov. Unfortunately, the culprits are probably in another country which means that there is nothing our government can do about it. Still, worth a shot. Also, submit some contact inforamtion to suespyaxe.blogpot.com so that a class action lawsuit can be launched once we find the responible party.

I had SpyAxe, got rid of it, now I have it again under a slightly different name - SpywareStrike. I read that getting rid of the first allows the second one to load. This is ridiculous - Microsoft needs to issue a fix for this, and those BA$TARDS at SpyAxe need to go to jail.

Took over my computer! WinXP Pro/AMD2200. Its downloaded itself through my firewall and was recognized as a trojan virus- BEWARE!!! Spyaxe is VERY malicious! I understand it loads spyware onto your computer so it can delete it, making it look useful. I hope noone else has to go through what I had to, to delete it.

Easy way to get rid of this sucker is to, system restore prior to getting infected with SPYAXE or you can manually restart in safemode and delete the files mscornet.exe, mssearchnet.exe, nvctrl.exe, svchost.dll in the c:\WINDOWS\system32\ dont forget to delete directories c:\Program Files\SpyAxe and c:\Windows\system\1024 and c:\windows\system32\1024 and c:\winnt\system32\1024 hope that helps someone out there! and remember NEVER buy products from spyaxe

They are right - SpyAxe IS a virus. It installed itself on my friends computer without his permission, and now the spyware is so bad, it constantly disables the internet connection. There are so many pop-ups, it makes the computer virtually unusable. This, despite the constant scanning with both Ad-Aware and Spybot to try to get rid of it. These people need to be put out of business.
(And should reimburse people for expenses entailed in backing up and reformatting the hard drive.)

This thing was installed on my computer without my knowledge. I is a total piece of garbage. I wrote the company and of course, no response! It had to be underlayed in pages, because I never agreed to anything with this company. It took over 3 hours to rid my self of this piece of junk! BEWARE!!
