WHAT IS SAVINGS EXPLORER?

Savings Explorer is one of the programs which will let you know about its presence on your computer immediately since it will display various ads that will make you cringe away from your computer as you will not be able to see the original content on your Internet Explorer, Google Chrome or Mozzila Firefox browser. It is not surprising that this program has been categorized as potentially unwanted program (PUP) and adware since it will do so much more than simply annoy you with offers you do not need. First of all, do not underestimate the power of the word ‘ads’. We mean tons of sponsored ads, deals, offers, banners, pop-ups, plug-ins, add-ons, underlined words in texts and other sponsored content that will be displayed on your screen. What is more, this sponsored material will redirect you to websites which might be suspicious and even dangerous we mean that you might end up clicking on one of these ads unintentionally or on purpose and the last thing you know you are exposed to various prompts to update your Flash Player or web browser. These are the oldest trick in the playbook and you should never fall for them. While you will definitely experience what does ‘slow browsing’ mean because of all the ads, there is another aspect we need to mention. That is, the fact that Savings Explorer installs cookies on your browser and thus keeps tabs on what you are doing on the Internet, for how long and what things you look up online. Therefore, you may soon notice that all of these ads with the text like “Ads by Savings Explorer”, “Savings Explorer Ads”, “By Savings Explorer”, “Powered by Savings Explorer” or “Brought to you by Savings Explorer” might become weirdly personalized and you will be right as your browsing-related information will be shared with third parties in order to generate ads that would be more appealing to you. Therefore, Savings Explorer can cause nothing but trouble and you should get rid of it as soon as possible using some reputable anti-spyware tool like FortectIntego in order to be sure that your computer has not been infected further.

HOW CAN SAVINGS EXPLORER HIJACK MY COMPUTER?

Savings Explorer has probably been hidden in a bundle with some freeware you have recently installed. Therefore, the only way to prevent stealth installation is to check each step of the installation process and make sure that you untick and deselect everything that you do not want ending up on your computer. While we are at it, you should also keep in mind that it is really unwise to use third-party installers and download managers as they are notorious for distributing bundled programs.

HOW TO REMOVE SAVINGS EXPLORER VIRUS?

While you may remove Savings Explorer manually, you should remember all of these ads you have accidentally clicked on. It is very likely that there are other programs lurking on your computer. What is more, there might have been other programs in a bundle that would probably be removed. Therefore, perform a full system scan and get rid of all potential threats.
