How to remove VEEHD Plugin

A step-by-step removal guide for affected devices. Follow the verified procedure below — most readers complete it in under 10 minutes.

Jake Doevan · Computer technology expert

VEEHD is an alleged streaming app that might produce too many ads

VEEHD is a potentially unwanted program, which is created to promote third-party content. The official website of VEEHD states that the program:

was created by a group of artists wanting to bring HD to the art world. VEEHD offers an audio/visual platform where artists can showcase/promote their latest work.

Well, even when one member of our research team entered the official website to investigate it, at least 3 pop-up windows showed up there and were blocked by an anti-malware program. Besides, it can also be detected as PUP.Optional.VeeHD.A by many security apps.

What is going to happen if you would install The VEEHD Plugin V10 on your computer? First of all, this plug-in will attach itself to your internet browsers, including:

  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Google Chrome
  • Internet Explorer, etc.

After doing so, it will start tracking your activity on the Internet and, taking into account your most visited websites, bookmarks, search queries, and other browsing-related data; it will select its advertisements from the VEEHD adware server that may be interesting for you.

Such activity aims to trick people into clicking these advertisements. Please, don't fall for them because it's just a trick to increase the traffic of third-party websites. For each of such clicks, developers retain revenue from advertising.

Beware that you may find various content on websites that you can be redirected to: some of them may be harmless, some of them may be very dangerous, and may lead you to the installation of a potentially dangerous program with just one click.

It is highly recommended you remove VEEHD virus and its files permanently to keep your system secure. You can employ powerful anti-malware software or perform the steps described in the bottom section of this article. Additionally, we recommend using FortectIntego for the best results.

You can easily avoid adware

Programs like VEEHD Plugin are spread via bundling. This distribution method is a very popular way to promote unwanted content, for example, adware-type programs, browser hijackers, and other suspicious browser add-ons, plug-ins, extensions, etc.

Such applications are wrapped together with safe and legitimate downloads, so people can be easily tricked into installing questionable components. Many people tend to install programs carelessly, and in order to avoid that, they should be attentive and avoid the following installation options:

  • “Default“ or “Standard.“

This is exactly where the agreements to install additional programs are hidden. Instead, pick “Custom“ or “Advanced“ options and keep your computer away from the unreliable material. If you have already started seeing VEEHD ads, you should follow the guide down below.

VEEHD FAQ:

Question: I have recently installed VEEHD. At first glance, it seemed like a cool tool to share high-definition media. But I noticed some really annoying drawbacks – my computer works slower. When I browse the Internet, I am being flooded with endless advertisement windows that pop up and interrupt my activity. It annoys me so much! Maybe you can advise on how to solve this problem?

Answer: You are dealing with a potentially unwanted program, so you should waste no time and uninstall it from your computer.
