Kariloo offers excellent content search, but cybersecurity experts recommend avoiding it

Kariloo is a typical browser hijacker. Once installed, it changes browser’s default search[1] setting to Search.Kariloo.com. As a result, the user has to suffer browser redirects through feed.snowbitt.com search when trying to search the web via browser’s URL bar. Although the hijacker doesn’t alter browser’s homepage, we strongly recommend removing it for your safety.
Browser hijacking programs belong to potentially unwanted programs’ (PUP) category. This particular Kariloo redirect virus aims to track user’s browsing patterns and use collected data for selecting targeted ads and causing redirects to partner websites.
NoVirus.uk experts[2] claim that the hijacker injects ads into search results, and the trustworthy look of them can convince the victim to click them. Consequently, a browser redirect transfers the victim to a predetermined website and generates a pay-per-click type of income for the developers of Kariloo.
However, you can never know whether these websites are trustworthy and if visiting them is safe. In the worst case, you can end up on malicious websites[3] and compromise your computer heavily!
Kariloo virus tends to collect “log data,” which includes IP address, browser type, version, browsing history, time stamps, search queries and other related data. Although the hijacker developers swear not to collect personally identifiable data automatically, they admit that, in some cases, they might ask the victim to provide it.
Finally, Kariloo developers clearly state that their “ website contains affiliate marketing links, which means we get paid commission on sales of products or services purchased through these affiliate marketing links.”
The final point why we recommend you to remove Kariloo is that this potentially unwanted program might start serving annoying pop-up or banners ads to you. Such content quickly becomes annoying, so to prevent such problems from occurring, consider available Kariloo removal options. You may want to use FortectIntego or instructions we added at the end of this post.

Installation of the hijacker
Potentially unwanted programs can reach your computer with or without your knowledge. However, the developers of such programs often play with user’s attentiveness skills and try to make one install unwanted programs without realizing it. Therefore, we are going to present a quick guide on how to avoid installing potentially unwanted programs such as hijackers or adware.
- Download programs only from trustworthy Internet pages. Never install programs if you receive an offer to do so via pop-up ads or banners;
- When installing new computer software, only rely on Custom/Advanced installation options. These will provide you with the list of bundled software and give you a chance to deselect them;
- Read Privacy Policy and Terms of Use (optional). These documents provide useful information regarding data collection and other important details about programs’ activities.
Remove Kariloo and clean up your computer
It is best to get rid of Kariloo because it certainly does not deserve a name of a trustworthy software. To remove Kariloo virus, use the guidelines we added to this article. You will need to uninstall associated programs as well as browser extension called identically as the described PUP.
To speed up the Kariloo removal, consider using automatic spyware removal tool. We highly recommend using FortectIntego or SpyHunterCombo Cleaner software.
