Inasearch.space – a browser hijacker that prevents from finding information online easily

Inasearch.space is a domain used by a browser hijacker[1] to redirect user’s search queries. This potentially unwanted program (PUP) typically gets into the system in a software bundle. Thus, users rarely notice its infiltration. However, after the hijack, it makes numerous changes to the system that cannot be overlooked.
Inasearch.space virus might affect all popular web browsers, such as Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, etc. When installed, the hijacker might make specific system changes and modify each of the browser’s settings to prevent users from reverting further changes:
- replacement of built-in search engine, homepage address, and new tab URL;
- search redirects to h[tt]ps://inasearch[.]space/srch/?keyword=[search terms];
- delivery of ads in the search results or other visited websites;
- sudden redirects to promotional websites.
After the Inasearch.space hijack, you will notice that finding necessary information is complicated. Nevertheless, it is reported to reroute users to Google results page via h[tt]ps://inasearch[.]space/srch/?keyword=[search terms] domain; the hijacker might prevent you from accessing needed link easily.
It might trigger a redirect to a third-party site as soon as you click on a search link. This activity helps developers to generate revenue by driving traffic to affiliate websites. However, these sites might belong to cyber criminals. Hence, any Inasearch.space redirect might end up with malware infiltration or phishing attack.
Additionally, the hijacker might be capable of collecting browsing-related information about users which can be used for advertising purposes. Based on your search terms, visited websites, clicked ads, and other details, the hijacker might display targeted ads which you might be willing to click more.
However, instead of trusting hijacker’s promotional offers, you should remove Inasearch.space from your browser. It only diminishes browsing experience and might put your privacy or computer’s security at risk.
For Inasearch.space removal, you can use any professional security software. However, we recommend using FortectIntego. This program not only cleans your PC from cyber threats[2] but repairs the system from the damaged caused by the virus.

The hijacker spreads as a browser extension in software packages
According to the researchers, this shady search tool spreads as Inasearch browser add-on. This PUP is hidden in software bundles as an optional component. Therefore, users who are not aware of secure freeware or shareware installation, let this shady app sneak into the system.
However, browser hijackers are easy to avoid. All you need to do is:
- Use reliable download sources;
- Choose “Advanced” or “Custom” installation instead of “Quick” or “Recommended”;
- Opt out all pre-selected apps or offers to replace your search engine.
Security specialists from semvirus.pt[3] also remind the necessity to read EULA, Privacy Policy and other documents provided by the developers. Then you can be sure that developers take care of your personal information and does not force to install additional programs you do not need.
