What is WebCheck?
WebCheck is treated as a legal security tool, which is supposed to protect your computer from scams and private data stealers. Official website webcheck1.com promotes this application as legal and effective tool against malicious applications, unwanted cyber intruders, and other outside threats. Although it sounds attractive, this potentially unwanted program may be labeled as nothing more than ad-supported application. If you would be more attentive and read the end-users license agreement (EULA), you would notice that WebCheck virus works with third parties. As a consequence, you may be driven to questionable websites which may be infected with malware. Moreover, this untrustworthy program may even touch privacy related issues. As stated in the official license agreement, ' the Service may also place or read cookies on your computer's browser, which enables to collect information about users who view or interact with their advertisements and content'. So, it seems that WebCheck promises to keep you safe from private data stealers may be incorrect. On one hand they may keep you safe from cyber intruders, but on the other hand, they may transfer your personal browsing data to the third parties themselves. Although we don't know what third parties WebCheck is affiliated to, we may assume that the data they collect from you may be used for commercial purposes. Even WebCheck is considered to be legal, we suggest you to reconsider it's value and eliminate it from your computer. We recommend you to rely on more familiar security tools if you want to keep you personal information safe.
How WebCheck hijack my computer?
Since WebCheck is legal and promoted on the official site, it can easily be downloaded and installed voluntarily. However, be careful. As we explained above, this program may not be as useful as it promises. In addition, there is also another way that is used to transmit all kids of adwares. It's relies on freewares and sharewares. Since free software programs are extremely popular among users, ad-supported programs, browser extensions and other potentially unwanted programs (PUPs) have a relatively free path to access computers. WebCheck virus is not an exception. It may easily end up on you computer after installation of a freeware. We can give you a couple of helpful tips that may help you to avoid installation of such and similar programs. In order to avoid this adware, you should read end-user license agreement (EULA) part and make sure that its not ad-supported. Moreover, in order to spot such unwanted attachments, you need to choose 'advanced' or 'custom' installation option. Follow the entire installation, unmark suspicious attachments or even reject installation of such questionable program. After having discussed WebCheck application in details, we suggest you to delete it in order to avoid further risk.
