WalletBee is adware that displays intrusive pop-ups and other types of ads

WalletBee is another questionable application that we do not recommend using. This program is promoted as a useful tool that is supposed to help people save time and money. In most cases, however, this app does not provide helpful deals or offers but rather inserts ads into your search results or shows pop-ups that do not stem from the visited website. Without a doubt, such behavior can greatly disrupt the online experience and diminish the efficiency of web browsing.
| Name | WalletBee |
| Type | Adware |
| Distribution | Software bundle packages, freeware websites |
| Activities | Takes over the installed web browsers sand displays unwanted ads; fails to deliver effective deals or discounts |
| Removal | Perform a full system scan with security software of follow our guidelines below |
| System fix | After adware or malware elimination, we strongly recommend fixing virus damage with FortectIntego repair tool |
In most cases, adware is not installed on users' machines intentionally, as its primary distribution method is bundling. Several components are compiled into a standalone installation package and intentionally hidden from users' sight. Be careful when installing freeware from third-party websites in the future.
Once installed, the program initiates various browser changes in order to perform its activities in the background. For example, it may record your browsing activities and collect various information. Once this browser add-on enters your system, it hijacks the most web browsers (Google Chrome, Internet Explorer and others) and starts delivering the following form of ads:
- pop-ups,
- banners
- in-text links
- auto-play ads, etc.
If you rely on this program and believe that it displays useful promotions, you may be very disappointed. We say so because instead of showing you various coupons, price comparisons, and offers, WalletBee may start generating ads that are totally out of context.
Furthermore, you may also expect redirects to questionable sites that may be filled with unreliable programs, links, ads, and so on. If you have already noticed redirects, you should immediately leave those sites that you were redirected to because they may be filled with deceptive content or even scam material.
You can delete potentially unwanted programs relatively easily. However, keep in mind that your web browsers' settings may have been altered, and they will not get restored after you uninstall the PUP. Therefore, you should employ FortectIntego to clean web data quickly and efficiently. Alternatively, follow the instructions we provide at the bottom of this post.
Adware distribution tactics remain the same
These days, 'bundling' method is extremely popular when trying to spread such questionable apps. This deceptive method helps developers distribute their creations without users' knowledge, so you should definitely dedicate some minutes for understanding how it works.
Unintentional installation of adware is related to the constant need of users downloading freeware apps. These are usually hosted on various third-party websites which get hundreds of thousands of visits weekly. Pay-per-install is a very common monetization technique, so site owners want users to install promotional content.
Unfortunately, it is not always done in a very fair way, as optional installs get often hidden from users' eyes deliberately. For that, various deceptive techniques are used; for example, the “Skip offer” button might be placed on the left side of the window, which makes user automatically click on the “Accept offer” button which is located on the right side.
Therefore, being careful during the installation process is essential when trying to avoid PUPs. Besides, an up-to-date security program can be very useful when dealing with potentially unwanted or malicious software.
Stop the intrusive ads by removing adware from your PC
If “Ads by WalletBee” are constantly annoying, you should not waste time and remove it right away. Keep in mind that if you leave it installed on your device, you will be continually tracked by the implemented browser cookies and other technologies.
Thus, first thing you should do is check which apps are installed on your system (if you don't know how – we explain it in further paragraphs) and then either reset your web browsers or clean them accordingly. Note that a scan with antivirus is always advised just to make sure that your system is not infected with more dangerous threats.
