What is ArcadeCake?
ArcadeCake is a gaming software by ArcadeCake LLC. It allows playing various games for free. However, after installing it, you may notice that each of your web browsers was altered. Typically, ArcadeCake LLC drops its add-on on Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer web browsers, but there is no guarantee that it won't do that on other web browsers in the future. After doing so, ArcadeCake may start tracking your browsing on the Internet and may try to collect various information. Typically, it collects data that is related to people's search habits, like their search terms, mostly visited websites, entered data, etc. However, it seems that PC's IP address, its location and similar information is also collected, so you should use ArcadeCake adware with an extreme carefulness. After collecting all this information, this potentially unwanted program may start causing commercial ads during your browsing. That's what Terms of Use of ArcadeCake notifies:
“The Software will allow us to display third party applications as well as text link, popup/under, transitional, shopping and banner advertisements on your computer based on the information we collect from you as described in the Privacy Policy. The Software does not collect any personally identifiable information. In addition, the Site and Premium Games may display advertisements from third parties before and/or during gameplay. All third party applications and all advertisements from the Software, Site and Premium games shall collectively be known as “Third Party Content”.
If you want to avoid ArcadeCake ads and, after clicking them, ArcadeCake redirects to affiliate websites, you should stay away from this program. Please, look for other applications that could give you the same because this program can hardly deliver what it promises. If you have already been tricked into downloading it, you have two options – you can try to ignore each of its ads or you can remove ArcadeCake virus from your computer. We recommend this option. If you want to get rid of this program completely, please think about automatic removal of ArcadeCake. In this particular case, we recommend you to try these programs: FortectIntego (Windows OS), FortectIntego (Mac OS X)
How can ArcadeCake hijack my computer?
There are two different methods that can be used for promoting such programs as Arcade Cake adware and similar programs, such as Arcade Frontier or Comet Arcade. The first one is harmless because you have to visit its official website and consciously install this software on the system. However, that's not the only way how this program spreads around. It seems that you may also download it to your computer without knowing that. This is possible because of the bundling that has been actively used when trying to spread adware, browser hijackers and similar potentially unwanted programs around. Fortunately, you don't have to be a genius to avoid them. For that you should select Custom or Advanced installation option when downloading freeware to the system. Please, do that when installing every software because that's almost the only method that allows seeing what optional components are hiding inside. If you think that Arcade Cake virus is already hiding in your computer, you should use a guide below and fix it.
