Virus Trigger – fake security software that you shouldn't downlaod
Virus Trigger is another scam trying to gain purchase by pretending to be a security program. The creators of this fraud didn’t even bother to name the program properly, calling the anti-virus program “Virus Trigger” is the same as naming it “Virus Magnet”.
Usually, VirusTrigger (a.k.a. Virus Trigger 2.1) is installed secretly by Vundo trojan but can also get on your system through software bundles, deceptive ads, fake Flash Player updates, and sneaky methods alike. This rogue antispyware loads fabricated system scan results full of infections. It also displays fake security reports and urges users to pay $79.95 or $49.95 for using the program. Please DO NOT do that.

The rogue security software was also distributed on virus-trigger.com and virustrigger2009.com. Those may seem to be websites of a legitimate software developing company, but the first impression is very misleading. The latter one contains an article about the achievements of the article's culprit company, but there is no information or contact details provided.
Texts on the website are riddled with grammatical mistakes. Although it promotes Virus Trigger, the product name is changed to TotalCleaner on some sections of these websites. The websites are actually identical and are full of various inconsistencies.
Do not waste your time and money on this worthless program. It is not antivirus; it is dangerous malware. If you've installed it or it got on your device out of nowhere, please remove it immediately. Uninstall from Windows
Uninstall from Windows 10/8:
- Type Control Panel into the Windows search box and open the result.
- Under Programs, select Uninstall a program.
Uninstall from Windows 7/XP:
- Click on Windows Start > Control Panel (Windows XP users should click on Add/Remove Programs).
- In Control Panel, select Programs > Uninstall a program.
Remove the unwanted program:
- In the Programs and Features window, look for any recently installed suspicious entries, select them, and click Uninstall.
- If User Account Control appears, click Yes to confirm, then complete the removal.
