What is asr.dat? Should I remove it?

The asr.dat file is dangerous to the computer system and your privacy. It belongs to a parasite, whose payload may differ depending on its type. While relatively harmless pests may use asr.dat to degrade system performance, display commercial advertisements or perform other annoying actions, really dangerous parasites may use asr.dat to damage your system, infect files, corrupt installed software and violate your privacy. The asr.dat file is installed and used by Advanced Security Tool 2010.
In some cases a presence of asr.dat does not mean that your system is infected. The file may actually belong to some fully legitimate applications and therefore must stay intact. If you are in doubt, please scan the asr.dat file using you regular spyware remover or antivirus program.
