What is settings.ini? Should I remove it?

settings.ini is a configuration file containing essential settings of main parasite components. These settings are used to initialize a parasite on startup, describe its standard behavior and reconfigure its base functions. The settings.ini file doesn’t carry any payload and therefore is unable violate your privacy or harm your computer. However, a parasite needs it to work properly, so deleting settings.ini may brake certain threat’s functions and even prevent it from running.
The settings.ini file is installed and used by Fade. It is also related to other parasites such as PowerBot and Ardamax Keylogger. These threats can use settings.ini for different purposes, as the file’s functionality depends on a particular parasite it belongs to.
Please note that the settings.ini file actually may be a fully legitimate part of the operating system or legitimate software.
