$1000 VISA Gift Card – a pop-up scam which offers to win a $1000 worth VISA card

$1000 VISA Gift Card virus
$1000 VISA Gift Card is a scam message which tries to trick gullible users and convince them to provide sensitive data.

$1000 VISA Gift Card is considered to be a scam message which shows up once you enter a rogue website or accidentally install a potentially unwanted program. This pop-up scam offers to win a VISA card which is worth $1000, however, for this reason, the user is urged to enter some personal details in a specific survey. Sadly, entering sensitive data does not lead to anything good as the users often receive nothing after answering the questions. Note that, $1000 VISA Gift Card virus is just a scam[1] which aims to trick gullible users. These types of applications try to benefit from people who fall for believing in them. If you ever enter a website and this rogue pop-up shows, be quick to close that page. However, if the scam shows up out of nowhere, make sure you check the system for rogue programs installed.

If $1000 VISA Gift Card pop-up scam shows up, do not take it seriously. People who produce this scam do not fulfill their promises, and no VISA card will be received after filling the survey. However, you might expose your personal details to random people. This type of information might include:

  • email addresses;
  • system-based information;
  • your IP address.

However, if you are keen on completing the $1000 VISA Gift Card survey, better enter a fake email address and then look what happens. We can guarantee you that no promises will be fulfilled. Note that, by entering a fake email, you protect yourself from possible danger. In some cases, crooks might find ways to misuse the emails in spam campaigns and distribute dangerous malware such as ransomware or Trojan horses[2] thru those addresses.

Note that, if the pop-up scam keeps on showing up, you need to remove $1000 VISA Gift Card virus from the system and get rid of all potentially unwanted components in order to get rid of the rogue scamming activity on your computer. For elimination purposes, you can choose two different methods – the manual or automatical one. However, we advice using automatical computer tools to speed up the removal process.

Nevertheless, performing the $1000 VISA Gift Card scam removal is necessary if you want to get rid of other rogue activities that adware-related programs might perform. For example, you might be dealing with frequent advertising which intrudes your browsing sessions or often covers your desktop with annoying adverts. Furthermore, these ads can take you to questionable-looking websites which might lack recommended protection.

PUPs often distribute silently

According to cybersecurity specialists from NoVirus.uk website,[3] potentially unwanted applications can be hidden widely throughout the Internet. You can find such rogue programs in dubious-looking websites which lack recommended protection and their questionable links. However, such rogues can distribute in other ways also.

If you have been receiving rogue-looking activity lately, there is a big chance that it is being caused by a potentially unwanted program. These types of applications can distribute via regular software. If you like downloading programs from free file sharing websites or by using secondary installers, there is a big chance that a PUP might come together with them.

What you have to do is take care of your downloads properly. We recommend using the Custom or Advanced installation mode over the Quick/Recommended one. This way you will be able to deselect all incoming objects that you do not want to have on your computer. Additionally, you can install reliable computer tools to protect the system from rogue components automatically.

Get rid of $1000 VISA Gift Card scam from your computer system

This method appears to be much safer and more effective than getting rid of the PUP[4] on your own.

However, if you are confident with your computer skills, and you think that you can remove $1000 VISA Gift Card virus from the system without any help of other tools, then go for it!
