AdBlock Stream – is an adware that, instead of preventing ads, shows more of them

AdBlock Stream is a program advertised as an app that will prevent various kinds of advertisements, but in reality, it does the opposite. It shows an enormous amount of ads as pop-ups, banners, and underlined keywords in texts, hyperlinks. What's even worse, the ads originate from miscellaneous websites, not the ones you're browsing.
While the user is browsing the internet, AdBlock Stream virus can show numerous ads because it is either added as a browser extension or installed as an application on a device. The showed promos are for fake app updates, online games, adult content, and potentially unwanted programs (popularly knows as PUPs).
Usually, ads that are shown by this adware have inscriptions like “Ads powered by AdBlock Stream” “AdBlock Stream,” “Advertisements by AdBlock Stream”, “Ads by AdBlock Stream”, “Brought to you by AdBlock Stream,” “Powered by AdBlock Stream” above or below them.

| Risks | Ads shown by adware might cause the installation of PUPs or infections of severe malware. Browser hijackers are known to collect private and browsing data, which may be sold to unrelated third-parties with ill intensions |
| Removal | At the bottom of this article, we provide a detailed and free guide on how to remove AdBlock Stream from any device |
| Device fix | Use the FortectIntego tool to fix your systems registry and other core settings that the browser hijacker might have corrupted |
AdBlock Stream isn't considered malware[1], but that doesn't mean that it is safe to use it. The program or the browser-based application has no value. If clicked on, ads shown by this adware might redirect users to malicious third-party websites crawling with severe computer or cell phone viruses.
In addition, browser hijackers are known to gather personal and browsing information such as geolocation, visited sites, search queries, IP addresses, and so on. This collected data might be sold to the highest bidder that might be cyber criminals with malicious intent.
That being said, we recommend users to remove AdBlock Stream from all of their devices because it's better to safe than sorry. A manual uninstallation guide is posted at the bottom of the article. Afterward, a full system scan with dependable anti-malware software like SpyHunterCombo Cleaner or MalwarebytesMalwarebytes is in order to make sure no other PUPs or malware were installed while using the adware.
Following AdBlock Stream removal, experts[2] recommend performing a system tweak with an appropriate system repair tool like the FortectIntego to revert any changes that the browser hijacker might have done to key system settings like the system registry.

Freeware bundling – the most common way potentially unwanted programs are spread
Although adware and browser hijackers can be downloaded from the Google Chrome web store (until the company realizes that the software they're offering can incur harm), adware is usually installed in a more stealthy way – with freeware or software bundles.
When users download software, they don't necessarily know that additional applications will be installed along with the one they wanted. This kind of software is categorized as potentially unwanted programs (PUPs)[3] due to the sneaky installation techniques.

Users should never rush when installing new software. Choose Custom/Advanced installation rather than going with Quick/Standart one because all boxes agreeing to install additional apps (possible PUPs) are preselected. When choosing Custom/Advanced mode, the user is able to see what would have been installed on his device without their direct consent and remove all the checkmarks from the pre-ticked options.
AdBlock Stream removal options and a quick system fix
Browser hijackers and adware don't seem as dangerous as ransomware or trojan horses, but they still pose some threats, so they should be deal with accordingly. Remove AdBlock Stream manually with our free tutorial displayed below this paragraph. Then, be sure to scan your device with a reliable anti-malware application to be sure no additional PUPs or malware found their way in.
As mentioned before, PUPs can make changes to various system settings, such as the system registry and others. System repair tools should be used to restore any modifications to their prior values after the AdBlock Stream PUP invasion, thus ensuring that the devices won't exhibit any abnormal behavior and operate at top-notch performance.
