Why do I see ‘Ads by Cut The Price’ on my computer?

‘Ads by Cut The Price’ show up on your computer’s screen for a reason. They wouldn’t appear without the help of related browser add-on that needs to be installed on the system somehow. At the moment of writing, it can be done with the help of bundling or third party download websites. The official site of this program does not work, but there is no guarantee that it won’t be renewed in the future. It is believed that the most of the people have installed this program consciously, thinking that it will help them save the money. Unfortunately, but CutThePrice was created with other intention. As soon as it enters the computer and modifies all of the web browsers (IE, Mozilla, Chrome, etc.), it starts earning the money for its developers by promoting affiliate parties that are seeking to increase their popularity. For that, this app shows commercial pop-up ads, in-text links, banner ads and similar notifications during people’s search sessions. Security experts do not recommend clicking Cut The Price ads because they may redirect people to unsafe websites.

Technically, this browser add-on is not a virus. It was added to ‘potentially unwanted program’ and the ‘adware’ category. However, you should still be very careful with this application because it can also be used for tracking your browsing on the web. As a rule, such programs are interested in non-personally identifiable information, what means that all what they collect is search terms and information about websites that people visit the most. However, CutThePrice virus may also know your computer’s IP address, its location, and information that you provide on your favorite sites. To prevent the loss of such data, the best choice is to remove this program from the system. You can do that with the help of Reimage or other reputable anti-spyware.
