Ampxsearch.com aims to take over your regular browser

Image of Ampxsearch.com virus

Ampxsearch.com looks like an ordinary search engine. However, it possesses several bogus features which allow to classify it as a browser hijacker[1]. While the fraudulent web directory is successful in delivering search queries, it pushes sponsored ads among them and collects private information.

Even though you can find similarities between Ampxsearch engine and Google, Bing or Yahoo, the latter one employs an intolerable method to stealthily force people using its services — developers bundle it with software you can download for free. Thus, you might not even notice its presence at first.

However, if Ampxsearch.com virus is infiltrated on your PC, you should be continuously redirected to http://ampxsearch.com/ website. This browser hijacker is able to make modifications in your browser settings. As a result, your default search provider becomes the fraudulent web directory.

While at first it may seem insignificant, the real problem arises when you try to remove Ampxsearch.com from your system. This potentially unwanted program comes together with specific browser extensions which reset the altered parameters every time you try to change them to the primary state.

If that is not enough, you shouldn’t trust the delivered search results of Ampxsearch either. According to the experts’ opinion, the contrivers generate revenue from the amount of clicks the fake search engine can obtain on the promoted ads. In other terms, the query results push advertisements to benefit from gullible people.

Note that there is a high risk to infect your computer with malware if you support Ampxsearch.com redirect. Therefore, we advise you to avoid clicking on ads despite how legitimate they look.

However, the best decision would be to start Ampxsearch.com removal as soon as possible. You can get rid of it quickly with the help of Reimage or any other security software of your choice. Remember that any delays in the elimination process might complicate it even more or lead to severe computer infections.

Check software installers for additional programs to avoid PUPs

Potentially unwanted programs travel in the software-bundles[2]. In other terms, it may seem that you download only one program, while the installer of it holds an additional application as well. Likewise, you should decline the installation of any suspicious apps.

Learn how to avoid PUPs by following the tips below:

  1. Download software only from reputable distributors or developers;
  2. Carefully read Privacy Policy/Terms and Conditions;
  3. Employ an antivirus system to scan programs before you download them and remember to keep the security software updated regularly;
  4. Select Custom or Advanced settings of the installer only;
  5. De-select any previously marked ticks which permit the installation of unknown programs.

The easiest Ampxsearch.com termination process

While you can remove Ampxsearch.com virus both manually and automatically, those who opt to do it fast should choose the automatic procedure. According to NoVirus.uk[3] experts, it is also the safest option since PUPs have numerous browser extensions and add-ons which may disguise under unrecognizable names.

Note that Ampxsearch.com removal requires deleting all of its components. Thus, automatic elimination will not only save your time but also guarantee a successful termination in several minutes.

Yet, we still are aware of the people who prefer manual removal. We attach a detailed step-by-step guide at the end of this article and kindly ask to avoid skipping steps. Your security is our priority and any misusage of the instructions can lead to unsuccessful elimination or further computer damage.

You can remove Ampxsearch.com automatically with a help of one of these programs: Reimage, Plumbytes Anti-MalwareWebroot SecureAnywhere AntiVirus, Malwarebytes Anti Malware. We recommend these applications because they can easily delete potentially unwanted programs and viruses with all their files and registry entries that are related to them.
