How to remove Atpops.online ads

A step-by-step removal guide for affected devices. Follow the verified procedure below — most readers complete it in under 10 minutes.

Jake Doevan · Computer technology expert

What is known about Atpops.online virus?

Atpops.online is a deceptive adware program. Once installed and active, it displays a misleading message on the computer screen, falsely informing the computer user that the operating system “has been frozen in order to prevent damage to your computer.” It claims that the OS is ruined by csrrs.exe process, and only Microsoft technicians can fix this problem. Therefore, the victim needs to contact them via a provided telephone number.

That is nothing more than a filthy technical support scam, so you should not call the number. If the described message has shown up on your computer screen, it means you have recently installed one or a few untrustworthy programs, which infected your PC with Atpops.online adware. As a result, now this adware sends you these deceptive messages every time you boot your computer. However, it is very unlikely that your computer is infected with some sort of malware, but if you want to, you can scan your computer system with a reliable anti-malware software and see if there are any malicious programs on the computer system. Most likely, the anti-malware is going to detect and identify Atpops.online as a threat. Remove it, and you will soon notice that Atpops.online ads do not show up anymore. You can also try to remove this program manually, but this Atpops.online removal option is a bit more complicated. If you feel that you are not experienced enough, and you do not know how to delete potentially unwanted programs manually, feel free to use instructions provided below this article. Atpops.online scam

Fake technical support scammers used to call computer users directly, but now they use other techniques to deceive naive computer users. They distribute potentially unwanted programs (PUP) that display fake error messages or Windows Activation windows on victim’s computer screen, attempting to convince the user to call the provided number for assistance. Beware of this type of scam and do not let cyber criminals fool you!

How does this computer threat hijack computers?

Do not let Atpops.online hijack your computer; as we have already discussed, you can unconsciously install Atpops.online adware with other free programs. It can be hidden in software packages, which are also known as software bundles. Such packages typically consist of one popular program (download manager, media player, game, etc.) and a few optional programs, which are presented as recommended ones. Surprisingly, statements informing about the existence of such additional programs are often concealed behind Default, Standard, Basic or Express installation settings, which computer users tend to choose. You have to refuse to install such hidden additions, and in order to do that, you should change installation mode to Custom or Advanced mode and then look for information about additional software added to your download. If you see suggestions to install browser add-ons, apps, or proposals to change your home and new tab page, uncheck them. Then finish the installation procedure.

How to remove Atpops.online from the PC?

To remove this malicious adware from your computer system, use our recommended software and scan your computer with it. If you do not want to use this or any other anti-malware software to uninstall Atpops.online virus, then try to eliminate it manually. Be very careful, because this program is a complicated computer threat and it does not have a uninstaller. We have written instructions on how to do it – they are provided below. Again, another scamware. Guys, you should never call numbers provided in pop-up ads, even if they have blue background and look scary.
