Annoying Bargain Bear ads can pose a threat to your computer

Examples of Bargain Bear adsBargain Bear is a classic adware[1] program that annoys computer users by placing banners, in-text links and triggering pop-up ads on the screen during browsing sessions. This potentially unwanted program (PUP) is undesirable due to its desire to generate pay-per-click revenue without caring about the quality of the ads served to the victim.

On top of that, this suspicious application spreads in several shady ways. So if you visited this page to find out more information about the program and learn how to remove Bargain Bear virus, proceed to the next paragraph.

The identified adware program functions like any other ad-supported program. It promises to enhance browsing and online shopping experience by serving coupons, discount codes, deals, offers and freebies from various websites.

Sadly, the functionality of this program is vague, and it simply tracks user’s online activities to deliver ads that seem to meet user’s interests at first sight. The program tracks user’s:

  • IP address;
  • Geolocation;
  • Search terms used;
  • Browsing history;
  • Ads clicked and other related data.

Having all of this information allows the adware to serve targeted ads. However, not all of these ads can be trusted. For this reason, we suggest you do not rush to click on Bargain Bear ads as soon as they pop up on your screen.

Remember that this adware is designed for revenue making and not for the user’s benefit. Therefore, by clicking on ads that it delivers, you risk being taken to low-reputation sites. In the worst scenario, you can even be pushed to malicious sites[2].

Therefore, we suggest you refrain yourself from clicking on them as they are unlikely to provide you money-saving deals. To cleanse your computer, start thinking about Bargain Bear removal options. In our opinion, Reimage works best for it.

Ways that software bundling contributes to proliferation of potentially unwanted programs

Software bundling is an excellent software distribution technique that allows spreading a couple of programs together. When programs are bundled together, one becomes part of another – when the user downloads one program, it contains a suggestion to install the additional program.

In most cases, users agree to install these programs without even realizing it. It happens because users tend to rush and install programs by clicking “Next” button repetitiously. That is a wrong way to install new programs because software installation requires a lot of attention.

You must know all the conditions you agree to by clicking “Install.” For this reason, we suggest you read all of the provided documents and statements. Finally, set installation settings to Custom/Advanced and deselect every additional program suggested to you.

Find an easy way to remove Bargain Bear

Users often look for the easiest ways to remove Bargain Bear virus and similar potentially unwanted programs. The fastest, easiest and safest way to do it is to run a system scan with an up-to-date anti-malware program. If you do not have it yet, we suggest checking out the programs listed below.

Alternatively, you can follow instructions given down below for manual Bargain Bear removal. You can also find instructions in a different language in sites like DieViren.de[3] or UsunWirusa.pl. Be very patient and careful – you do not want to miss any steps in order to delete the adware successfully. Even if you do not plan to use anti-malware software, consider running a system scan after removing the adware just to see if your computer is entirely malware-free.
