Remove Cinema-Plus

removal by Ugnius Kiguolis - -   Also known as Cinema-Plus virus, Cinema-Plus-1.2 | Type: Adware

What is Cinema Plus?

Cinema-Plus (also known as Cinema-Plus-1.2) is potentially unwanted program, which is promoted as a useful tool. Allegedly, it should enhance your video viewing options and improve your browsing on the web. This program should help you get a better quality while watching YouTube videos and then adjust screen lights or other important settings according to your needs. Unfortunately, but we can not guarantee that this program will deliver what it promises. While Cinema-Plus is a free application, it needs to have a method helping it to generate the money. Therefore, we have discovered that this program is supported by advertising. It means that if you add this questionable extension to your web browser(doesn’t matter if it’s Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, etc.), you may see intrusive advertisements everywhere you go. No matter what browser you use or what website you visit, Cinema-Plus ads may follow you everywhere. If you have been seeing ads that are labeled as ‘Powered by Cinema-Plus’, ‘Brought by Cinema-Plus 1.2’, ‘by Cinema-Plus’, etc., the first thing that you should do is to ignore them because they may be filled with suspicious links that may lead you to questionable websites. In addition, you should consider checking your computer with a reputable anti-spyware and removing related browser add-on(s). For that we highly recommend using Reimage Reimage Cleaner Intego or other reputable anti-spyware, which will help you to find out whether this unwanted program is hiding in your computer or not. Of course, it will also reveal whether your computer is infected with other threats or not.

How can Cinema-Plus hijack my computer?

It looks like this dubious program is transmitted with the help of numerous freewares and shareware, so you should be extremely careful when downloading them to your computer. It is hard to tell which specific freeware or shareware can be used for transmitting Cinema-Plus virus to your PC system; therefore, you should be extra careful when downloading any program. Although this program is relatively harmless, Pc security experts think otherwise and do NOT recommend using it. That is because Cinema-Plus may appear on your computer out of nowhere and then may initiate many unwanted activities behind your back. In worst case scenario, after clicking on any of its ads, you may end up on a corrupted website. If you do not want that to happen, you should always make sure that your computer is protected. What is more, you should avoid downloading unfamiliar freewares without checking if these programs are safe enough. Read end user license agreement (EULA) part and follow the entire installation process step by step after selecting Custom or Advanced installation of the freeware. It might only take a few minutes; however, it will increase your chances to prevent similar intruders.

How to remove Cinema Plus virus from my computer?

Usually, this potentially unwanted program hides in your Add/Remove Programs folder and in your browser’s directory where all add-ons, plug-ins, and extensions are stored. Don’t let Cinema-Plus redirect you to a dangerous website. Follow these guidelines and prevent that from happening.

You may remove virus damage with a help of Reimage Reimage Cleaner Intego. SpyHunter 5Combo Cleaner and Malwarebytes are recommended to detect potentially unwanted programs and viruses with all their files and registry entries that are related to them.

@Amber: Im having the same problem too, but for my desktop, this adware program called “CinemaPlus-3.2cV21.05” was on there and I tried removing it but it wont uninstall, I mean that pop-up said “Uninstall and get reimage, or just uninstall”, I clicked “Just uninstall” and it didnt uninstall and I hate that. And its annoying when it does that every time I go on YouTube using Google Chrome.

Go ahead and click on the uninstall and re-image. Two windows will open,. one for the uninstall and one for the re-image. GO ahead and do the uninstall steps. Then, open up your task manager and kill the process for the re-image. Worked for me.

Try cleaning all the cookies and reset every single browser that you have. It looks like this adware drops couple of hidden files in order to boot every time when you start your computer. You can also try reseting your host file back to default. Inform back with your progress, perhaps it will help you. If not, we will try to find another solution.

I found a way to delete this crap:

    1. It probably wont allow you to delete it from Control Panel at first, so I you would have to go to the place where all the files are and delete them manually (while keep trying from Control panel-uninstall the program). Go to Program files (x86) and find Cinema Plus folder. Open it and delete all files which it would allow you too. Keep trying to get rid of it from Control Panel/Uninstall Program too. I deleted all, but one files manually from Program files/Cinema Plus folder and Control panel allowed me to uninstall it via Uninstall Program.
    2. Even if 1 file remains in the folder – you have to get rid of it too since is the main trouble maker. If you gonna try to delete it manually it would say that you cant since it is open in the window with exactly the same name as the file name which means that the program is running already and you have to stop the process to delete the file.
    3. CTRL+ALT+DEL and open task manager
    4. Go to processes
    5. Select “show processes from all users” at the bottom of the window
    6. Find the process name with the same name as the remaining file you are trying to delete from Cinema Plus folder and click “end process”
    7. Now go back and delete the file. It should now allow you to do that since all processes are closed, if not – check once again Task Manager for suspicious processes and applications and close them.
    8. Reset your browsers as described above or just reinstall them to make things simple.
