What is Find DMV Info Toolbar virus?

Find DMV Info Toolbar is a insecure browser add-on, which can be added with or without user’s consent. It presents itself as a helpful tool to quickly access insurance quotes from major providers, print free DVM forms, and even apply for auto loans. However, you should not fall for these claims, because this browser add-on is a hardly useful program. There is a reason why computer security experts have classified it as a potentially unwanted program (PUP) and even as browser hijacker. It seems that this program functions like any typical low-level computer threat that wants to make the computer user click on sponsored links and visit affiliate websites.

Once installed, Find DMV Info Toolbar browser hijacker changes browser’s homepage as well as new tab page. It switches previous web pages with a site that provides a search engine. Despite the fact that it looks like a regular search engine, we have to disappoint you by saying that using it might be a bad idea. Some of the search results it generates can be related to suspicious or even malicious Internet sites, so clicking on them might be dangerous.

What is more, this browser add-on collects information about the computer user, and even though it claims that it is not interested in gathering personally identifiable information, it can still access some and even share it with third-parties:

BY USING THE SERVICES, YOU ARE CONSENTING TO GRANT […] PERMISSION TO COLLECT YOUR SEARCH DATA AND URLS, INCLUDING SEARCH QUERIES THAT MAY CONTAIN PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION, SHARE THEM WITH THIRD PARTIES […]

If you would like to keep your search queries, browsing history and similar information private, you should remove Find DMV Info Toolbar redirect virus from your PC. Reimage anti-spyware can ease this task for you, but if you would like to delete this application without using a malware removal program, please follow Find DMV Info Toolbar removal instructions that we have prepared (you can find them on the following page).

How did this PUP enter your computer system without your permission?

In fact, you probably gave this program a permission to be installed, but you just do not know when and how did it happen. You should ask yourself, how do you install programs and what settings you usually select to install them? If you usually opt for pre-selected options (Default or Standard), then you should know one thing. These options include, but typically do not reveal agreements to install “recommended programs” that were added to your download. To refuse to install them, you should choose Custom or Advanced installation options and reject unwanted components by deselecting them.

How to remove Find DMV Info Toolbar?

We believe that Find DMV Info Toolbar virus is an unnecessary program and it has no useful or exclusive features. It seems that it just pushes the user to use a suspicious search engine, which provides a lot of sponsored search outcomes. Besides, this program collects some information about user’s browsing activity in order to display third-party ads, so if you do not feel like sharing info about your browsing habits and receiving intrusive pop-up ads, just uninstall Find DMV Info Toolbar browser hijacker from your computer. There are two different techniques how you can do it:

  • You can uninstall it manually;
  • You can remove it automatically.

As we have mentioned earlier, it is very easy to uninstall PUPs and malware with a help of anti-malware software. You just need to run a system scan and let it find hazardous programs installed on your PC. However, it this doesn’t sound like the best option to remove this browser hijacker, you can follow Find DMV Info Toolbar removal guidelines given below and eliminate it manually.

You can remove Find DMV Info Toolbar automatically with a help of one of these programs: Reimage, Plumbytes Anti-MalwareWebroot SecureAnywhere AntiVirus, Malwarebytes Anti Malware. We recommend these applications because they can easily delete potentially unwanted programs and viruses with all their files and registry entries that are related to them.
