Freecorder Removal Guide

What is Freecorder?

Freecorder – video downloader with plenty of adware-like qualities

Freecorder

Freecorder is a potentially unwanted program, which has also been labeled as adware by various security researchers. No matter that such programs are not considered malicious (don't even think that they are viruses), they may get inside your computer without your permission asked.

This is implemented via an unfair distribution method known as bundling. Of course, you can download this program from its official website as well, but it seems that this previously mentioned method, which is based on freeware and shareware, is much popular.

Name Freecorder
Type Adware, video downloader, potentially unwanted program
Distribution Software bundles, third-party websites, fake updates
Dangers Installation of other potentially unwanted programs, personal data disclosure, financial losses
Removal You can uninstall adware by following our manual guide below or performing a full system scan to eliminate the it automatically
System fix Adware might sometimes cause havoc on the infected machine. Some of the changes performed by it to the computer might remain after its elimination, resulting in system crashes and similar issues. To fix these problems, use FortectIntego

If you want to avoid unexpected installation of this software, make sure you check tips that are given in the next paragraph of this article. Besides, Freecorder is closely related to the Delta Search Toolbar, which has been announced on our website some time ago.

Beware that it may also appear on each of your web browsers after downloading this program to your computer manually. After doing so, it may start causing continuous redirections to its affiliate sites, may show you various pop-up ads, or may initiate other unwanted activities.

Besides, you may find out that your homepage and default search engine has also been changed because of Freecorder. According to victims, it can be changed to:

Please, do not ignore such changes because you may be redirected to seriously dangerous websites infected with more serious viruses. If you have just discovered unwanted apps on your computer, you should scan it with updated anti-spyware and remove Freecorder and all suspicious files from your PC system. For that, we highly recommend using SpyHunter 5Combo Cleaner, followed up by a scan with a tune-up utility FortectIntego.

Alternatively, Freecorder removal can be performed manually with the help of our guide provided below – just make sure you follow it attentively.

PUP distribution methods involve deception

As we already mentioned, Freecorder can be downloaded from its official or affiliate site. Here, it is presented as a very useful application, which can be used for lots of different activities. However, we have serious doubts about this browser add-on and think that you should stay away from it as far as you can.

Besides, if you decided to install the app on your computer, you should note that you can also agree to install Delta Toolbar and related adware/browser hijackers on your machine as well. In order to avoid that, you should always check every installation window of the software and uncheck pre-checked checkmarks that allow the installation of optional components.

During the installation process of freeware, you might see the following options that are presented to you straight away:

  • Recommended install
  • Custom install

Custom or Advanced options should always be chosen if such an offer is provided, as it will allow you to stay in control of what is being installed on your system throughout the procedure.

Besides, it has also been found that Freecorder may start tracking PC users' browsing activity after getting inside the system. It may collect such data as people's search terms, mostly visited websites, PC's IP address, location, and similar details. No matter that such data is considered as personally non-identifiable, we think that you should keep it for yourself.

Freecorder virus removal instructions

If you have just noticed suspicious changes in your default search engine or a homepage, you should remove Freecorder and all other potentially unwanted programs from your computer. Only this way will you be able to get rid of includingdelta-search.com, mixidj.delta-search.com, or other modifications to your browser. Don't forget to either reset your browsers or clean them properly, as explained in the instructions below.

Freecorder removal can also be performed with the help of a powerful anti-malware solution. This option could be more attractive to users who do not wish to waste time cleaning their computers from adware and other PUPs. Besides, this method is more often than not more effective, as it can result in findings of other malicious programs that could be running in the background.

How to prevent from getting adware

Access your website securely from any location

When you work on the domain, site, blog, or different project that requires constant management, content creation, or coding, you may need to connect to the server and content management service more often. The best solution for creating a tighter network could be a dedicated/fixed IP address.

If you make your IP address static and set to your device, you can connect to the CMS from any location and do not create any additional issues for the server or network manager that needs to monitor connections and activities. VPN software providers like Private Internet Access can help you with such settings and offer the option to control the online reputation and manage projects easily from any part of the world.

Recover files after data-affecting malware attacks

While much of the data can be accidentally deleted due to various reasons, malware is one of the main culprits that can cause loss of pictures, documents, videos, and other important files. More serious malware infections lead to significant data loss when your documents, system files, and images get encrypted. In particular, ransomware is is a type of malware that focuses on such functions, so your files become useless without an ability to access them.

Even though there is little to no possibility to recover after file-locking threats, some applications have features for data recovery in the system. In some cases, Data Recovery Pro can also help to recover at least some portion of your data after data-locking virus infection or general cyber infection.
