The main features of the Hotsitetopic.com virus

First of all, Hotsitetopic.com virus is not a technical virus[1]. It cannot affect computers itself or cause serious damage to the device or stored data. This cyber parasite is classified as a potentially unwanted application; more specifically, a browser hijacker. This type of computer infections is known for attacking web browsers and taking full control over them[2]. When browser hijacker infiltrates the system with a help of freeware, it alters browsers’ settings, modifies Windows Registry and various shortcuts. Since then users lose control over their beloved browsers. Hotsitetopic.com browser hijacker replaces current homepage, default search engine, and new tab URL address with its domain. Previously mentioned modifications prevent users from resetting their browsers. Cleaning the shortcuts and setting another address as their homepage won’t give any results. Hijacker elimination requires deep system investigation. Reputable anti-malware software, such as Reimage Reimage Cleaner Intego, simplifies this process and can remove Hotsitetopic.com for you. All you have to do is to run a full system scan with an updated tool.

The main reason why browser hijacker attacks web browsers is to force users to use this search engine. The main page may seem reliable and do no differ a lot from other search providers. It includes to the popular social networks and websites. The search engine delivers results from Google Custom Search; however, we want to stress out that it’s not the same as Google. Hotsitetopic.com browser hijacker might alter search results and replace relevant links with sponsored ones. Developers of the hijacker generate revenue from boosting traffic to the third-party websites. So, including sponsored links and tricking users to click them is an unfair money making scheme. Developers also profit from the pay-per-click advertising; so, you can expect to see a little bit more ads than usual[3]. Some of them might remind your latest search queries and attract you with great and useful deals. However, these ads might be an illusion because this PUP tracks information about you and may use it to generate appealing commercial content. We do not recommend trusting these offers because you might end up on a malicious website or install Trojan[4]. Avoid any risks to encounter a serious cyber infection by starting Hotsitetopic.com removal immediately.

Access your website securely from any location

When you work on the domain, site, blog, or different project that requires constant management, content creation, or coding, you may need to connect to the server and content management service more often. It is a hassle when your website is protected from suspicious connections and unauthorized IP addresses.

The best solution for creating a tighter network could be a dedicated/fixed IP address. If you make your IP address static and set to your device, you can connect to the CMS from any location and do not create any additional issues for server or network manager that need to monitor connections and activities. This is how you bypass some of the authentications factors and can remotely use your banking accounts without triggering suspicious with each login.

VPN software providers like Private Internet Access can help you with such settings and offer the option to control the online reputation and manage projects easily from any part of the world. It is better to clock the access to your website from different IP addresses. So you can keep the project safe and secure when you have the dedicated IP address VPN and protected access to the content management system.

Backup files for the later use, in case of the malware attack

Computer users can suffer from data losses due to cyber infections or their own faulty doings. Ransomware can encrypt and hold files hostage, while unforeseen power cuts might cause a loss of important documents. If you have proper up-to-date backups, you can easily recover after such an incident and get back to work. It is also equally important to update backups on a regular basis so that the newest information remains intact – you can set this process to be performed automatically.

When you have the previous version of every important document or project you can avoid frustration and breakdowns. It comes in handy when malware strikes out of nowhere. Use Data Recovery Pro for the data restoration process.
