Remove Kometa Browser (Virus Removal Guide)

removal by Linas Kiguolis - - | Type: Adware

Kometa Browser – what kind of web browser is it?

Kometa Browser is a Russian Internet browser that is known to be a potentially unwanted program (PUP). This Internet browser is built based on the Chromium, engine model. However, it is a bad web browser that you should NOT use. It is labeled as an adware program, which means that this dubious program seeks to promote affiliate marketing. Our research team members have found out that this rogue Internet browser is capable of downloading other potentially unwanted programs to your computer without your authorization. Moreover, this browser delivers tons of annoying pop-up ads, which may be a nerve-wracking experience to see them every minute. It is also hard to close them; basically, they are going to appear with every click you make in order to open another web page on the Internet. However, that is not the end. Kometa Browser ads are unreliable as they can lead you to third-party domains, which may be filled with questionable content, for example, download links of potentially unwanted applications or even malware. Needless to mention, you do not want to harm your computer by letting these programs into your system.

Questions about Kometa Browser

In addition, Kometa Browser can track victim’s browsing activity. Why? Because this dubious software wants you to click on its ads, so it gains personally non-identifiable information to find out your interests and to display ads associated with your recent search queries, websites visited and so on. What is more, this controversial program is going to cause system slow downs because it demands huge computer resources to load up its ads. If you have noticed that Kometa Browser has appeared on your Start Menu and replaced your default search engine, you should scan your PC with anti-malware software like Reimage Reimage Cleaner Intego and eliminate this computer parasite from it.

How did Kometa Browser hijack my computer? I did not install it.

If you cannot remember installing this rogue software to your computer, the only way it could find the entrance to it is if you have installed freeware or shareware recently. This adware program is commonly spread via bundling method, which means that the developers Kometa Browser attach this program to other free applications and distribute them as one software pack. Sadly, many computer users think that it is safe to install programs using Default or Standard installation modes, which are usually automatically selected. Wrong! You have to opt for Advanced or Custom mode because these settings allow you to see whether the app suggests installing optional software or not. If you see any unfamiliar suggestions, deselect them. Access your website securely from any location

When you work on the domain, site, blog, or different project that requires constant management, content creation, or coding, you may need to connect to the server and content management service more often. It is a hassle when your website is protected from suspicious connections and unauthorized IP addresses.

The best solution for creating a tighter network could be a dedicated/fixed IP address. If you make your IP address static and set to your device, you can connect to the CMS from any location and do not create any additional issues for server or network manager that need to monitor connections and activities. This is how you bypass some of the authentications factors and can remotely use your banking accounts without triggering suspicious with each login.

VPN software providers like Private Internet Access can help you with such settings and offer the option to control the online reputation and manage projects easily from any part of the world. It is better to clock the access to your website from different IP addresses. So you can keep the project safe and secure when you have the dedicated IP address VPN and protected access to the content management system.

Backup files for the later use, in case of the malware attack

Computer users can suffer various losses due to cyber infections or their own faulty doings. Software issues created by malware or direct data loss due to encryption can lead to problems with your device or permanent damage. When you have proper up-to-date backups, you can easily recover after such an incident and get back to work.

It is crucial to create updates to your backups after any changes on the device, so you can get back to the point you were working on when malware changes anything or issues with the device causes data or performance corruption. Rely on such behavior and make file backup your daily or weekly habit.

When you have the previous version of every important document or project you can avoid frustration and breakdowns. It comes in handy when malware occurs out of nowhere. Use Data Recovery Pro for the system restoring purpose.
