Remove Melondrea Ads

removal by Jake Doevan - -   Also known as Melondrea virus | Type: Adware

What is Melondrea?

Melondrea by the company called SuperWeb LLC is a potentially unwanted program that can also be called an adware. That’s because this software has been created entirely for advertising purposes. In most of the cases, it infiltrates PC systems without users’ permission asked and then, after modifying each of web browsers, starts showing commercial content. This content appears during people’s browsing and looks like it is set to help them save the money. However, we haven’t managed to find a person who has saved a dollar with a help of Melondrea adware..

This program offers better Internet browsing experience, website ratings, comparison shopping and coupons, and more relevant ad content, so there is no surprise why there are so many PC users who have downloaded it to their computers. However, as soon as Melondrea enters the system, it may try to hijack every web browser that can be found on it (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox, etc.). After doing so, it may get ability to start displaying its commercial pop-up ads, in-text links, banner ads and other advertisements. Of course, they appear no matter if you want to see them or not. When Melondrea is installed on the system, it may also start causing redirects to its affiliate websites because that’s how its developers get ability to earn the money. Finally, it may start tracking your browsing on the web and may collect data that is related to your search terms, mostly visited websites and so on.

If you have been seeing various banner ads, search ads, pop-ups, text links and other notifications during your browsing, it might be that your computer has already been affected by a potentially unwanted program. Please, do NOT keep it there because it may lead you to various issues, such as Melondrea redirects and so on. In order to avoid them, you should waste no time and scan your machine with Reimage Reimage Cleaner Intego (compatible with Windows), Webroot SecureAnywhere AntiVirus (compatible with Windows and Mac OS X) or other reputable anti-spyware.

Melondrea Ads

How can Melondrea infiltrate my computer?

Melondrea virus and similar kind of adware is added to one’s computer by installing free software. If you are downloading and installing free software, such as PDF converter, Free Youtube Video Downloader 2.1 and etc. pay attention to all of its installation steps, because you can get a bundle of unwanted programs. When installing a software you are not familiar with, it’s better to choose advanced or custom installation method and prevent installation of unnecessary software, plug-ins or add-ons. There is another downside of this software: by hijacking your browser, Melondrea add-on tracks and records all your browsing information and collects information about what sites you’ve visited, time you’ve spent on particular web pages, your IP address, and even your search information, such as search queries and etc.
