Important things to remember about NewNoteCenter Toolbar

NewNoteCenter Toolbar

NewNoteCenter Toolbar is a free program that suggests changing the default page in Chrome[1], Firefox, and other popular browsers. Once installed, it switches the homepage and default search page with a New Note Center version of search.myway.com. Users who install this program without realizing what it does can be disappointed with it.

To remove NewNoteCenter, you can use either anti-spyware software or just delete this system tool manually. We have added instructions at the end of this post to ease this task for you.

We wouldn’t suggest using the search engine promoted by this browser extension because it tends to serve quite many ads in the search results. After entering a search query, you will see a list of findings with a separate section for “Ads related to” on the top of the page. Besides, you might see some ads at the bottom of the page, too. Keep in mind that clicking on these results might take you to external sites which might not be entirely trustworthy[2].

NewNoteCenter Toolbar tends to automatically capture some information during user’s browsing sessions, for instance, one’s IP address, search history, pages viewed, referring website address and related data. Also, this questionable application can collect any information (including personally identifiable data) you provide to its developers, such as email address, full name, username, and password.

If you installed NewNoteCenter expecting it to provide different services than it did, you can uninstall it using instructions provided below the article. We have received a couple of questions from German computer users regarding this toolbar, so we highly suggest visiting DieViren.de website[3] for removal instructions in your own language.

NewNoteCenter search

NewNoteCenter removal isn’t a hard thing to do, so just be patient. The directions we provided explain how to open browser settings and delete the extension for good.

NOTE. We do not recommend clicking the “Restore” button at the bottom of the described search site as this will only disable the extension but won’t remove it from your browser.

Ways to install browser extensions unknowingly

Browser extensions and other free programs can be installed from their official websites (in case they have them) or alongside other free programs that present them to computer users as “recommended downloads.”

Such software packages are known as software bundles, and bundling is entirely legitimate software distribution technique. However, not every computer user knowns how to reject additional programs suggested to them during the installation, so we are here to provide a how-to.

  • Try to download only the programs that look trustworthy;
  • Choose a reliable download source;
  • Pick Custom/Advanced installation mode. This will allow you to deselect additional software bundled with your chosen program;
  • Do not pick Default/Standard settings that are usually selected by default. This configuration hides your agreements to install potentially unwanted software.

Recently, the developer of this program contacted us asking us to remove this post from 2-spyware.com website. We believe that we shouldn't do that as long as programs that we offer for the removal of NewNoteCenter Toolbar can detect it and help users to remove it from the system. As it is mentioned under each of download buttons, we ARE affiliated with these anti-malware programs, and while some of them are free, others can remove a virus only after purchasing them. These mentions fully fulfill each of the requirements of FTC.

Nevertheless, we have recently decided to make a revision of this and other posts that are related to this developer. We claim that all of them are described properly.
