Questions about NowUSeeIt Player adware

NowUSeeIt Player by Verti Technology Group, Inc. is an adware-type application[1] known for misleading users into installing it as a useful tool for helping to access videos straight from your desktop. However, what is not provided in its description is that this adware can trick you into installing SmartPcSolutions, SupTab, and similar apps that have been known as suspicious for some time. If you have been wondering what else this regular-looking application can do to your PC, it turns out that NowUSeeIt Player virus can also track your searches behind your back and then display eye-catching ads from its sponsors. Before that, this potentially unwanted program[2] can block local ads from famous companies like Amazon or eBay. Please, be careful with sponsored content from this adware because you can end up with more issues on your computer.

What the program’s creators are claiming on its official website may sound like a great deal to many users. Who doesn't want to watch content without much effort? However, note that it is just a delusive facade which turns the supposedly useful app to a virus that is capable to run numerous tasks behind user's back after dropping nowuseeitplayer.exe and similar files on the system.

NowUSeeItPlayer is an ad-based infection, otherwise known as adware[1]. This means that, once inside the system, the PUP drops related browser add-ons to display different pop-up ads, sponsored links, and other intrusive advertisements while the victim is browsing thru his or her favorite websites. The local ads are blocked by the PUP to change them with the new content.

The main idea of displaying these ads is the money NowUSeeIt platform's developers generate. You should be aware that the intriguing pop-ups, banners or in-text ads you see while browsing the Internet are not necessarily there to offer you the best commercial deal or benefit you in other ways. Adware-generated ads are mostly driven by the intention of redirecting victims to specific websites and generating pay-per-click revenue. The main problem here is that you can't know where you can be redirected to. You can easily end up with the malware-infested domain.

NowUSeeIt Player adware
NowUSeeIt Player is adware which produces numerous annoying advertising posts.

Ads by NowUSeeIt Player may be a straight way to malware infection if you click on them without giving it a second thought. But carefully evaluating the content of the ads is crucial. If an online offer seems too good to be true, it might be that it is just one of the tricks adware uses to lure you into visiting sponsored websites or downloading software of their affiliates on your PC. Of course, it is all very unpleasant; luckily, you can eliminate these inconveniences quite simply. Below, you will find tips on how to remove NowUSeeIt Player virus from your PC without much effort.

Another major flaw of this program that we want to discuss it data tracking. With the help of additional software (helper-objects) this ad-supported application may start tracking your activity on the Internet. This illegal act is practiced by PUPs for different purposes. NowUSeeIt Player, for instance, may spy on your browsing activity and collect various information about your software and hardware.

NowUSeeIt Player strategy is primarily based on the collected data and allows the virus to generate targeted ads which would later send the users to predetermined websites. What is more, the gathered information, possibly, with your non-personally identifiable details, can later be shared with untrusted third parties which may use them for their malicious purposes.

To protect yourself, you can only trust reputable antivirus software like Reimage. Check if your system is infected with adware if the unwanted ads keep appearing on your favorite sites without stopping. More NowUSeeIt Player removal recommendations are discussed at the end of the article.

Adware distribution techniques

According to cybersecurity specialists from Virusai.lt website[3], some adware programs can be downloaded reasonably from their official websites. Also, they may be installed on PC's using a hoax marketing strategy named “bundling”[4] as well. It means that you may not even expect these applications to arrive on your PC's system and get negatively surprised right after receiving an excessive amount of ads during your browsing.

That may happen if you tend to install freeware[5] without paying much attention to its installation process. Therefore, to prevent the appearance of ad-supported applications on your computer, make sure that you select Advanced or Custom installation option and read all the terms without a rush. This way, all 'optional downloads' will be disclosed to you, and you will get the chance to opt out of them.
